I think we could have, if we had utilized the run more. Having said that, they forced turnovers when it counted. Can only say they did what they had to do to win.

Because they hate a winner.

All the hate in the world won't change that we will be in Atlanta for the SEC Championship game, will win that game, and if we're lucky sneak our way back into the BCSCG.

1. agreed, but there is still a real possibility that Alabama could get help (UTx beat K-State and SCal beat ND)

2. UGA's defense may be better that A&M, but Bama's problems were defensively stopping A&M and offensive mistakes (turnovers). I'd pick Bama over UGA, but the Tide showed they are mortal.

sadly the SEC streak ends this year.

I'd rather the SEC not be in the game than lose it.

I think Oregon would beat Bama.

Georgia lost early. Love it or hate it, that's the way NCAA football works. I'd rank them #4 right now if I were voting.

And as for "why is everyone so hard on Bama?" Well, Bama fans are hard on Bama because they expect perfection and it's an impossible target. The rest of the nation is hard on Alabama because Alabama was at the top of the mountain and it's fun to throw rocks at that guy (I remember being pretty happy with USC got beat under Pete Carroll, for instance.) And finally, there's a small subset of LSU fans-- not all LSU fans, but a vocal minority on SEC rant-- who are hard on Bama because they are butthurt.

It's not that we're butthurt, it's that we're sick of the sine wave that is Alabama's fandom. While they're winning, we are inundated with arrogant assholes. After a loss, they evaporate and we are left with the 'humble' tide fan.

frick you guys man, I used to hate Bama but had a lot of respect for them. After being on these boards and dealing with the fans, I don't have the respect anymore.

I dislike Bama fans due to the entitlement syndrome of your fanbase, the majority of whom did not attend the UofA. Taking pride in where you went to college> for me LSU and Ole Miss is one thing. Being an arrogant arse b/c they are winning these days and it is "cool" is quite another.

I dislike bandwagon fans in a nutshell...I feel t the same way about the Saints and LSU. I sat through Tiger Stadium in the 90s as a student and it was only tolerable due to Old Charter and Jack Daniels. Many LSU fans fit the bandwagon scenario just like Bama's

I hate Nick Saban....i think he is a slimy piece of shite...

now that out of the way...John Chavis showed college football how to deal with Johnny Football...if Alabama has such a great defense, why didn't they go to 3 down linemen and a dime package???

when I saw the gumps playing defense with 4 down linemen, I knew that the aggies would probably win

Look - its no secret that Saban's D has a hole behind the CB and in front of the safety. Additionally your OLBs can get matched up on slot receivers that can cause issues.

The question is: does UGA have the QB and the WRs to take advantage of this. I believe they do.

I still think Bama wins the SECCG though.

FAIRWAY you 're right. There is no way a one loss SEC jumps an undefeated team. The rest of the country would implode if that happened plus the media wants nothing more than not having an SEC team.....it would give them something to write about.

Take a look at the infirmary that is the Oregon defense and tell me how they stop the most physical team in their conference (Stanford).

Take a look at Notre Dame's mediocre performances (aside from Oklahoma) and tell me how they beat USC.

It's going to be Kansas State and either Georgia or Alabama. Unless of course the sip refs are so spiteful that they throw the game in Texas' favor against KSU in Manhattan.

I didn't attend UofA. I'm a "sidewalk alumnus". So it's cool that you hate Bama because of me.

My Dad and his brothers all went to Bama. I even went to the Ray Perkins football camp at Bama, but (on this veteran's day I'm proud to admit) that I went to USNA, where I was a vocal Bama fan who tried unsuccessfully to walk on the Navy football team- twice. Go Navy and Roll Tide.

You may go back to your bashing of Bama's sidewalk alumni now.

I agree that it will be 2 undefeated teams playing for the BCS title. I think it'll be Oregon vs Notre Dame. Notre Dame beat Oklahoma more decisively than Kansas State did; KSU should hope that ND beats USC by a lot more than Oregon does (or, that someone loses).

When you peak makes a difference in your season. Bama peaked early, and are leveling out. I think UGA has a really good chance to not just win, but win decisively. Sucks for Bama's title chances. UGA might be peaking now, and that's why I think they can/will beat Bama. Bama would win that game easily a couple weeks ago, not so much next month. UGA would likely smoke South Carolina now without Lattimore; sucks for UGA. LSU hasn't peaked yet, and would roll Fla now IMO. Sucks for us, but oh well.

Florida, A&M, and South Carolina are a level below, but can beat anyone (as proven by their biggest wins). Frankly, I think A&M now would beat Florida, as A&M is getting better while Florida is holding on. South Carolina lost their season with Lattimore (with Lattimore they're a few spots higher).

This is the year the SEC eats their own, and the rest of CFB benefits as a result. But I expect a big run of bowl victories for the conference

Honestly, I think Georgia's defense is better than Texas A&M's. That scares me, given that Bama's run of luck lately probably means Murray suddenly starts playing like Dan Marino. Two weeks in a row Bama just played against QB's who hit small targets and made no mistakes.
Their luck has got to run out sooner or later and Bama will still be chipping away at a BCS.

Bama's problem is lack of innovation on offense. But regardless, Bama wins last night if McCarron had not had his worst game of the season. The 3 TO's were the difference in the game and Bama still had a chance to win if your offense comes up with the right plays in the red-zone.
