If they were, then why would he be frustrated about losing?

I don't know many folks who get angry at losing exhibition games.

He's a competitor?

As fans we dont give a shite. Would we have like to win, sure. Losing on a buzzer beater in OT with nothing on the line, meh.

We are Champs of the SEC. Bama choked down the stretch and ended up in third behind FL. We are hanging banners while bama is scoring moral victories

For not giving a shite, you guys do scramble quickly to remind us how little of a shite you give.

He’s a hell of a player but also a loose cannon. Seems to have trouble controlling himself.

Who from Auburn will be getting into a fight on its flight to Nashville this week?

Hanging an SEC Championship Banner will do that to you

Not quite little brother. Beating Auburn in basketball happens more often than it doesn't, historically speaking and under the current head coach. It's a shame we were absolutely ice cold from 3 in the first meeting

Yep. The greatest coach in Auburn basketball history has an 11-12 record against Alabama in his 11 years as head coach.

Really hoping the last two games were just the team hangover from winning the SEC.

If we go far in the NCAAs there will be so many good threads to bump

Most great teams are unbothered losing to their biggest rival on senior day. That's why the players and fans responded the way they did - unaffected. I mean, what was Bruce thinking playing starters that much in such an unimportant game?

Even if they ostensibly treated it as a big and important game, the lack of stakes is still subtly in the back of the team’s mind. Not saying it changed the outcome or anything, but hope that is part of the reason.

Pretty sue the players and fans wanted to win the game.

Subjectively- yeah it’s a big game to players and fans. They both always want to win.

Objectively- it had no real impact one way or the other for Auburn. Hence almost an exhibition at this point in the season.

Tourney time now. Hope AU can prove the doubters wrong and can make a final four run.

It meant something to me. You never know, if we beat Bama Saturday we might've played Bama again this Saturday. Couldve beat their asses three times in one month.

Back in reality, Auburn’s best team ever went 1-1 against Alabama and is on a two game losing streak.

According to the SEC record books, this was Auburn’s 5th time to get at least a share of a regular season championship in men’s basketball all time.

For comparison, here is how many some other programs have won.

Kentucky: 49
Tennessee: 11
LSU: 11
Alabama: 9
Florida: 7
Mississippi State: 6

Bruce Pearl has drug the Auburn basketball program up from the basement and made them a respectable mid-level program.

Crazy that Bama was projected to be the better team and top dog in the SEC. Funny how that worked out.

Alabama finished 3rd in the conference and is currently ranked #5 in the country, just behind Auburn and Florida.

You must not follow basketball closely if you think this is a disappointment to Alabama basketball fans. We are just happy to be invited to the party.

Never said it was disappointing. Just stating AU has exceeded their pre season expectations and just won the toughest conference of college basketball we have ever seen.
