Turf at Mercedes Benz

I thought the turf conditions were criminal the way players were slipping and sliding and getting cleats stuck. UGA got the worst of it and that is sad. Injuries happen but I think that players should be able to go out with a reasonable expectation that the turf, on an NFL field no less, is going to be as safe as it can be. I did not get that perspective Saturday. Too many Georgia players were knocked out of the game by non contact activity. Stevenson, Blaylock, Fromm for a minute. CEH for LSU almost got his head knocked off when he went to make a cut and his feet slid right out from under him and the Georgia defender, playing the play like he should have almost took his head off. Here is the deal. Had the Georgia player not been able to pull up and out, he would have hit CEH right in the head and he would have been given a bogus helmet to helmet targeting that would have been no fault of his own. Arthur Blank, check your field and fix it.

The REC was obviously trying to take out both LSU and UGA players for the 2020 season.

You aren't very good at researching shite. Theres even a study showing how it leads to less injuries

Some of the injuries looked more like cramps than anything else except for the UGA player knee injury
Seems like the turf in the Superdome New Orleans gives a little more. Who knows.

Pretty sure he isn't trying to say natural grass is better than turf...he is saying the quality of that turf is shite...and he is right

What does natural grass have to do with this thread?

The turf had too many pebbles, making it too loose. Even Gary Danielson made a remark about it. Guys were slipping all game.

It's a thread about MBS field turf vs other stadiums field turf. I understand you not wanting to admit that since you tried to have a "gotcha" moment with the OP with your initial reply.

My comment is strictly about what that turf was doing yesterday. Not a comment on whether turf is safer or grass is safer or one turf over another. That field had issues Saturday.

Perhaps both teams have shitty equipment managers who should be terminated?

Actually it didn't allow the cleats to sink in because it was overfilled with the crumb... that's what caused them to slip...
I think it was the PAC 12 games where they had put some new turf and logo they had the same problem...
It looked like the whole field in the SECCG...

Might explain why the Falcons have such a shitty defense this year

In fairness to the turf, Gary Danielson has a remark about everything under the sun.

I doubt that is the case. But I am sure that OU and LSU will take what happened and what they saw Saturday into consideration when they decide what type of shoe or cleats to use in 3 weeks.

I don’t give a frick what that research says. That field was dangerous for the knees and anyone who paid any attention to the field conditions recognized this.

The falcons literally played on the same turf 24 hours later with no issue. It is more likely the equipment managers are to blame, not pebbles.

So you jump to the conclusion that multimillion dollar system is to blame instead of the possibility of incorrect equipment. Got it.

Do the Falcons play on the same field all the time? Do they have more injuries than other NFL teams? Was something done to the turf recently? Is this turf worse than other turf?
I feel like the answers to these 4 questions will be
Yes
No
No
No
I feel bad for players getting injured but I'm not sure if it was due to the field at all.
