I didn’t get that either. Should have gone for the 1st down and kicked. Our kicker has been accurate but not sure how good his range is, maybe with the bad weather leach felt a 40+ yd kick is unreliable

Just an ugly arse game.

Agree
At least give yourself enough time to run one more play. I would have called the TO with about 15 seconds left.
Even if you don’t get it then they don’t have enough time to do anything from the 38 yard line.

Yea, it's a unique situation. I'd get it if you were at midfield, but on their 38 the risk seems pretty minimal if they get the ball back with 7 seconds left if you don't get the 1D.

Maybe the most undesirable weather from a fan perspective so far this bowl season. Can't imagine actually being there for this

Truly does look miserable. There isn't much worse for spectating than 38 degrees and steady rain.

Dallas is terrible this time of year. I'm not sure what the venue is exactly but they should be indoors.

They've got 3 outdoor bowl games in DFW - this one, the one at SMU and the one in Frisco (got cancelled this year).

At least the field isn’t like this

They are at TCU's stadium.
Once again ESPN's halftime report is nothing but playoff talk. Who the hell is watching Tulsa/Miss St that wants to hear them say the exact same shite over and over about the playoff?

They've been doing this since the BCS started, though. It used to just be BCS bowls, then Title Game once you got toward the end. Then it was Playoffs only, with some NY6 talk sprinkled in.
It's pretty nauseating.

I just can't stand how they complain that the only thing anyone cares about is the playoff when they refuse to talk about anything other than the playoff.

lol at watching halftime shows. I can't stand watching anything but the game action itself, personally. I guess I will try to catch the part of the Heisman ceremony where they actually announce the winner, though, since bama players are up for it..

They need those viewers to boost ad sales and their brand during the playoffs. All these bowls prior are just advertising. frick ESPN.

Playoff coverage is about as boring as this game, thus far.

I'm not even really watching the game, just have it on in the background while I work, but the halftime shows are always on.

I was at that game... hungover as shite, cold, raining, shite field AND we lost.

I remember being at Jackson when we played LSU in 1974 as a teenager. It was about 35 degrees and miserable rain. State beat LSU 7-6. LSU scored at the end of the game. Went for two and the win but we stopped them. Very similar to this game today. Points are going to come at a premium. First team to 20 wins if we get that high. Might be 15.
For the players it is fun. Fans not so much.
