It’s a midweek game. Midweek games don’t matter and don’t affect rankings that much. If UT sweeps this weekend they will still be a top 5 team in the polls. UT will have its ups and downs this year due to the amount of players they lost last year (8 starters). But by time regionals roll around we won’t see midweek starters throwing. Regionals you will get Dollander, Burns and Beam. It’s not how you start it’s how you finish noob

Pepperdine ain’t what they used to be. They’re 4-5 and haven’t made the NCAAT since 2015. Haven’t had a winning record since 2018

Still an impressive start when you figure these guys havent played outside yet (at home). Trust me i live in rhode island and there's 6in of snow still on the ground

Tennessee had their chances in the last two innings. Griffin Merritt bad base running cost them. And then get doubled up on a shallow fly ball to the outfield. These are fixable things that will be corrected. I told everyone at the beginning of the season this team wouldn’t win 50 games, but will be ready by time regionals roll around. I still like the Vols to hang with anyone when Dollander, Burns and Beam are in the mound. Also the Vols are still missing Camden Swell due to injury. Once we get him back he will take over the closer roll most likely.
