Apples to apples, both have played against a 7-5 Auburn team.

Murray 13/23 105yds 0 TDs 3 Ints 8 car 37 yds
Tua 25/32 324yds 5 TDs 0 Ints 4 car 26 yds

^ about as meaningful as the stats you posted

Kyler has been awesome, but every stat that removes more attempts for Murray from the equation is either tied or Tua has the lead. Murray's biggest sell is his rushing. All the passing stats are equal or worse.

One of them plays on the best team in college football and will be a starting QB in the NFL while the other has no future in the NFL. When you destroy every opponent your not going to have the stats like you would if you barley beat half of your opponents.

Tulane could run up a score on a Big 12 school.

Big 12 -

He runs probably the 3rd best team in a Conference that is weaker than the BIG 10.

Not saying Murray's tiny little arse isn't good, but Tua carried the most heralded name in college football to the Championship last season, and has played CONSISTENTLY amazing all year in 2018 with an UNDEFEATED record.

Tua > Murray. It's a FACT.

That is a glaring difference.

Also, how is having a bad defense some sort of argument for Murray? Because he gets to play at full throttle using the entire playbook the whole game against teams like Kansas and Texas Tech? Wow, what an inconvenience for him and his stat lines. That argument makes no sense. I'm sure Tua would hate to have to play 4 quarters with the full playbook against Ole Miss or Arkansas.

If we are just handing the awards out to guys who put up the big numbers because they throw it the most, why the hell didn't all the Hawaii or Texas Tech QBs win Heismans? They were robbed.

So you're saying Tua scored more with a weak knee for half the season in a harder league?

In 4 of his last 5 games, Tua will face defenses better than any defense Murray faced all year

So eat shite

To be fair they scored 45 on an SEC caliber defense last year in the rose bowl in regulation

Actually 38 because of a defensive TD. Only 7 in the 2nd half

To all the people (OU fans) who fail to consider the Big 12 defenses, here you go

Your conference is also among the worst in the nation for total defense (may be the very worst of the major conferences, but I didn't spend that much time on it). A quick search reveals that 7 of the SEC teams have better total defense rankings than any Big 12 team, the best of which is Iowa State at #39. Oklahoma comes in at #111.

LINK

UGA has a good but not great offense, and scored considerably higher than their season average when they beat OU last year, then lost to Alabama

Tua’s also played 3 top 20 SP+ defenses.
Murray...none.

Yikes.

I wonder how many future NFL players Kyler has faced this year. Two? Three?

I mean, it is fair to add, Alabama has also played some wretched pass defenses. A&M, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisville, The Citadel and ULL are really bad pass defenses. And he lit them up like a Christmas tree every single time. However, unlike Murray, he didn't get to continue lighting them up until the end of the game.

But he's also played 3 pass defenses with a boatload of NFL players rushing him and covering him against Auburn, Mississippi State and LSU, and will play another one of those on Saturday in Georgia.

Murray is a great player, but if Tua has a really solid game against UGA then anyone arguing that "Kyler got screwed" is just a troll or an avid Oklahoma fan.

I could put up stats like Murray in the Big XII.

He's played vs 1, TCU. 2 in the Top 25 (Iowa State)

After Saturday Tua will have played against the 2 best corners in CFB and probably 1/2 to 2/3 of the top Non-Bama pass rushers in CFB, not to mention a slew of other top half of the draft players on the DL and Secondary.

To me, the Heisman is no longer, for the most part, about going to the best player (most outstanding) in NCAA. IT's about great player on a team that is in the hunt for a NC.

Tua will win as he should! But I think if you switched them between bama and Oklahoma, numbers would be very similar. Murray/bama would be in same position and Tua would have better numbers bc he's playing all 4 qtrs.

I agree, but Does Tua sit the second half in most games with out that bama defense? Tua isn't out there keeping teams from scoring.
