He wasn’t built up, he earned every bit of respect he has gained. But nobody in their right mind is just expecting a heisman year one.

Alabama sucks.
Am I doing this right?
no, doing it right would be
"Stidham, because frick Auburn that's why"
by saying "frick Auburn" you get upvotes from the three largest fan bases, LSU, Bama, and UGA

I agree, Jeremy Johnson earned his preseason Heisman.

Last time Georgia and UCF played. Remind me again who won?

It’s a coin flip for me. Stidham is older, more cerebral and will have more continuity with his wide outs. Plus Stidham isn’t coming off a National Title game that increases the expectations.
However Malzahn gets too cute and I could see the OL being something that makes it harder for Stidham. Tua will be a better college QB overall and being dual threat will alleviate a lot in his first year.

Stidham is a very good quarterback. Tua is a generational talent like Bama has never seen before. I don't think either kid disappoints this year. Tua will win the Heisman trophy and Stidham will be second team all sec.

Last time Auburn won at uga?? Tell me when that was??

Easily Stidham but you didn't give many options. I still think Stidham will be 2nd best QB in SEC. He'll do better than he did last season.

see it’s really easy to play the “dumb poster” game—you should try being something else for once

Jake Fromm.
Probably Jarrett nor Tua have to beg for sex online.
Likely neither confuses his own leg with a fish as well.
That lure in the leg was probably just a gafe, luckily not a real gaff ! ( I kill me ! )

Rule of thumb with Malzahn, play them early. Malzahns teams improve more than anyone as the season goes on.
Malzahn is 17-8 as a head coach in September...3 of those loses came at ASU against Power 5 programs. The other 5 loses came against top-20 competition including 2 loses to teams ranked in the top-2.
Malzahn is 17-7 as a head coach in November...including 4 loses against unranked opponents. The worst of those loses was either 2014 A&M or 2016 uga.
Malzahn's winning percentage as a coach is only marginally better overall than it is in September and November. Of course we always get Mrs. State, Ole Miss and arkie in October generally.

quote:Hitting one wide open WR after taking a 15 yard sack isnt earning respect. Playing garbage time all year with only 2 meaningful quarters of football isn't worthy of mentioning as the top of anything list. But it's going to take Bama fans seeing him starting against quality teams to see that. Taking sacks, slinging it up (when WRs aren't just wipe open), and not picking up that extra yard or 2 hurts does on 3rd and medium will start to add up. Those things just add more and more pressure on a QB who hasn't played a down where he would be blamed for a loss.
He wasn’t built up, he earned every bit of respect he has gained.
Then throw all the expectations that one throw against UGA has put on him and if he breaks his stats will make Hurts look like a Heisman QB.

Georgia's defense, when both go 2-0 against them.

Which one choked against LSU up 20-0, and twice in Atlanta to end the season? And which one led their team back from down 20-7 with less than 4 minutes left, in practically a road game, against the best team in the nation to win the National Championship?

He earned some respect. But Bama fans have blown it out of proportion. He essentially played one half of football with zero pressure. Yes it was the National Championship but he's a freshman coming in while they're getting blown out. There's no expectations in that situation.
He's looked impressive in everything we've seen but we haven't seen him in near enough for him to be a guarantee like Bama fans think he is.
