quote:It's a cultural thing with that tribe/clan whatever you want the Samoan/Polynesian people. The DAD is the head of the house and it goes back to the biblical sense of the Word.
Again, I don't care if Bama set his dad up for life. That's not the point. I'm more shocked that he couldn't even come up with a lie about why he went there. Tua always seemed immature in his interviews which goes hand in hand with living with the crazy dad. Him saying that just kind of makes you wonder about his mental make up. His dad won't be able to dictate anything to an NFL franchise. It's going to be a super interesting storyline to follow.
It's strange to us because in our cultural situation we are accustomed to Dad being completely out of the picture and absent altogether (i.e. Mark Ingram's dad in prison.) The Samoan-Polynesian culture takes it seriously, the dad makes every decision relative to his family and he holds a heavy influence with strict discipline over them.
I won't say the Tagovailoa's don't appear to take it to the extreme, but their way of life is not unusual to their people.

Firstly, I don't see it as unusual that ANY 17-18 year old kid would adhere to his parents wishes regarding his college choice, if the decision was theirs.
Secondly, what does it tell us about a bunch of LSU fans who would take a simple thread like this out to nearly SEVEN pages?
Can we spell O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D?

At the end of the day, Tua will make it through his NFL interviews no worse than Johnny Manziel made it through his.
And it's likely Tua's NFL career just might last a smidge longer due to his upbringing from a father with a stern hand. JFF had "Uncle Nate" watching over him, Tua has Galu.

Exactly. Joe Burrow doesn't give a Shi.t about LSU.
Wrong.

The swamps aren't exactly a destination. Which is why Louisiana is one of the few states that has lost population.
Food is some of the best in the country. Secondly, you can blame the democrat Gov Edwards and his war on industries that are vital to the state of louisiana. Hell, i have to go work out of town 12 hrs away for hitches because he ruined the industry in Louisiana. Irony, i have to go make money in another state and Louisiana gets state taxes off of it. smh

This thread is about why Tua’s dad would send him to Bama. What does Bama offer all these out of state kids to get them to attend?

few come close to matching its architectural harmony and symmetry and the beauty of its grounds. So it should not surprise anyone why UA is able to attract so many out of state students.
Yes, and some ahole showed a pic of a trailer park, implying that Alabama is a shite hole. I pushed back.
What does Bama do to attract those students? Beyond generous scholarships for elite students, it gives them a top notch Honors Program, amazing new academic, research and other facilities, and again, it gives them a gorgeous campus. In addition, it offers them a great football program and a very large, loyal and proud alumni base.

I think the bottom line (although I have no idea why LSU fans give a shite) is that Tua's father made a wise decision for his son.

Exactly. They pay them more.
Hence Tua’s dad pushing him to Bama

I feel like if I was some highly touted HS QB I'd want to go to Southern Cal just to play in LA or something. Why would I want to spend 3 years in Tuscaloosa?

Because you are 18 and going to college and going to college at Alabama, especially as a highly touted quarterback, would be awesome?
