If those regiments really had AK's, then they wouldn't have lost to a bunch of assclowns with muskets.

True story: Alaska at the time was actually owned by Russia, and Fayetteville, Alaska was home to the University of Fayetteville fricking Cossacks football team. The Louisiana regiment destroyed the town in retaliation for LSU's 39-3 defeat at hands of the fricking Cossacks in the Nome Bowl. LSU was still new to D1 at the time, being only a couple years old, so they really weren't used to handling defeat with quiet grace and dignity. Some things never change. Not saying this is one of them. Just quoting a proverb that I like to quote at completely random times, so don't get snippy with me.

Pure fiction.

The original corndog...we won't discuss what was batter-wrapped.

Read "Guns of the South" to prove your point. It's an alternate history novel by Harry Turtledove, actually pretty good. Needless to say the South wins.

Firstly... who had a use for Fayettenam prior to 1865? No one. Not until Bud started his little store.

Fort Smith with it's Mormons was the place to be! And it ain't The Indian Territory (aka, TIT, or Oklahoma). Which was just as good then as it is now!

that's one helluva walk to Alaska. Hope they stopped in Autzen and used it as a turd depository.

Actually.. There is an article showing a newspaper clipping back in the northeast about Fayetteville, Arkansas rebuilding and bustling after the Civil War.

I cannot find the follow up after the war.

Way to make a tasteless joke after my sincere history lesson.

I gave it a thumbs-up.

You mentioned AK's, and that book was about the South getting AK's. I DID SAY it was alternate fiction.

I thought the tastelessness par for the subject matter.

Fast fact: The real Donner Party was part of the 3rd regiment that lost their way to Alaska.
