Texas vs Arkansas (assuming both keep their current coaches) could be the most heated basketball rivalry in the SEC in a few years. They would fight over recruits, they would have existing dislike, and they would both be coached by get after them coaches.
SEC basketball, after being down for a while, is already on the upswing in a big way. Adding a really hot rivalry would only help the conference as a whole.

I more excited for basketball now then I have ever been. Barnes had a team that I thought would make some noise but nothing happened. Hopefully Beard can bring our program to national prominence.
The game with Tennessee should be fun.

Lately, Texas went to the most recent College World Series and won 3 games. To be fair, Florida was supposed to play Texas in the supers, but they were too busy losing by 19 runs in their own stadium to go winless in the postseason.

I mean, I understand the excitement for a coach like Beard but Shaka Smart had you a three seed last season... it had been over a decade for such a respectable seeding. Good luck.
