The risk:reward just doesn't make sense for any NIL that is reasonably conceivable if he's an early round pick

He's probably gone, but he's not a first round lock according to a lot of analyst draft projections, even though he obviously should be. Couple that with him loving Arkansas and us actually having success again, it's not the craziest thing ever.

He'd be able to cement himself in the first at the combine and during workouts though.

He should go and responsible adults will advise him the same.

That said, He’s a different dude and I won’t be shocked if he returns.

Him plus Haselwood and Thompson would be nasty

Trying to buy him for a year? Smart move! Hope it works out - he's an amazing player.

Yeah this doesn't make sense. He's a mid first rounder or higher post combine. Moving up means more money, but on a crappy team. Kid has nothing to prove and frankly, we won't be as good next year after losing so many super seniors. Offense should be ok, but may be back to fielding a Big 12 Defense.

Having said that, a Burks/Haselwood (thanks Zero U) combo set would be scary. As a fan, would love to see him in uniform, but can't imagine a dollar figure that is worth gambling NFL money. If this happens, expect some massive insurance policy.

It would be a nice parallel to NFL/college coaching money if NIL made it so that players didn't have to leave too early. At least the option to take care of family, often the driver to go, would possibly give another development year so they can actually stay in the league.

Maybe we can get them into an argument or tete-a-tete. Last Nam standing keeps it.

If I'm Burks, I'd be pushing for any NIL to stay being close to in line with my expected rookie signing bonus. He got banged up in games this year. Not sure a million dollar NIL or deal or somewhere around that would be enough for me to risk millions if I got hurt.

He's a 1st round pick, no NIL deal will pay him more then a 1st round contract.

Zero chance he comes back.

As long as he gets drafted by the Broncos, I don’t care when he goes. It’s all about the long game and my team winning a Super Bowl again.

Why would you want him to go play for ol horsey face Elway and not ever have a QB.

Lets get him to KC so he can be a star. Mahomes to Burks has such a nice ring to it. Denver is where wideouts go to die.

Some are saying he’s 50/50 now on actually coming back. Rumor is a massive NIL deal being worked on to keep him. If it’s true….. could we start seeing more players coming back for NIL deals??

There is no rumor about this. He is gone and CSP knows he's gone. They had a meeting last Friday to discuss the bowl game. Burks will play in the bowl (even though family members want him to opt-out). They also talked about the bowl game being his last game as a Hog.

I wish he would give baseball a shot this spring for the Hogs and see how it goes

some have called him major league talent ever since he was 15 years old

Typical idiocy from some local "source." Dude isn't playing in the bowl

He is playing in the bowl game as of now. Obviously, that could change.

Burks has enough integrity to not skip on any games. It looks bad when players skip games as they never cared for the team. It is a pride thing.

If he does stay for NIL, he'll be a top 3 selection the following year.

I highly doubt he comes back but it wouldn’t shock me.

He's got great communication skills I think, from his radio ads

I don't know why he doesn't have a Bass Pro NIL already because he's known as a big hunting and fishing guy

And again, I wish he would give baseball a chance this spring and see if he can get on the major league radar

Treylon baseball

what's the shelf life of an NFL wide receiver versus a major league center fielder? I realize it's one in the hand versus two in the bush at this point, but just play one semester and see how it goes

He's not going to have a career ending injury playing a semester of baseball

That could be but I think he wants to leave a winner.
