I hardly said he was worthless. I merely pointed out that Cody deserves next to no credit for blocking a kick when our kicker couldn't even get the ball high enough off the ground to have any sort of chance.

He deserves all of the credit. He blocked the kick.

Lincoln is not a good kicker but he was 10 of 14 on the rest of his kicks this year. The guy made 71% of his other kicks this year so it isn't like they block themselves. When a guy penetrates into the backfield and gets his hand on the ball, he gets the credit.

If Cody hadn't been in the game, someone would have blocked it anyway.

Celebrating what Cody did would be like if Alabama was winning 22-16 and Tennessee was on their own 5 yard line with :01 on the clock, and Crompton gets sacked and everyone goes crazy. As if the situation would have been any different if someone else came in for the sack. Any way you slice it, it was hopeless.

I think TCU might be the best team in the country. Obviously we'll never know.

If you ask people if Oregon is a good team most people say yes. When you ask about Boise you get way more no's.

Boise pounded Oregon, who won the PAC 10. They killed the number 1 team in the PAC 10. The proved something.

Boise played a remarkably different Oregon team. If Boise played Oregon in the last game of the season, it would have been a rout of epic proportions by the Ducks. I think most people recognize that, which is why little stock is put in Boise's early season victory.

How many kicks did Lincoln have blocked this year?

How many kicks from Lincoln did Cody block?

I disagree with you. It seems that Cody blocks a much higher percentage of Lincoln kicks than the rest of the SEC.

all good points, but if I could choose b/w lavalais and Cody i would pick lavalais from the 2003 LSu defense. I like Cody as a runn stopper but Lavalais could do the same and could chase a qb down. Fast for 350pounds doesnt mean you are fast.

The crucial kicks he did get off the ground tended to flitter harmlessly to the turf...blocking it just prevented a delay of the cheers.

I know Ole Miss blocked a Lincoln kick, and I'm pretty sure South Carolina did too. But it didn't matter nearly as much (at all, basically) in either of those games, so they get no attention.

Based on what?

Everybody gives teams like that a pass and says "oh they're a different team now..."

Here's Oregon's last 4 games:

Nov. 7 at Stanford L 42-51
Nov. 14 Arizona State W 44-21
Nov. 21 at Arizona W 44-41
Dec. 3 Oregon State W 37-33

They gave up 51 points to Stanford and they'd beat Boise? They're the same team. They are who we thought they were.

They gave up 36.5 points per game over the last month of the season. They're not good.

Boise is a pathetic excuse for a BCS pretender. They were fortunate they drew Big Lame Bob in their one huge game.

Casey Hampton has played 9 years in the NFL. He's won 2 superbowls and gone to 4 pro bowls.

He averages in a 16 game season:

32.44 tackles a year
18.67 solo tackles a year
.89 sacks a year

Pro Bowl Beast Mode?

The guy gets a little over 1 solo tackle a game yet he's gone to 4 pro bowls.

Oregon averages 42 points a game versus PAC 10 teams.

Oregon scored 8 points on Boise.
