Does anyone have the scoop on him at Auburn? Did anyone ever have any classes with him or meet him while out? Did he seem crazy? I don't know if this stuff can happen over night, but it's concerning.
The few people who I've seen mention they've met him all said this behavior is very unlike him, but that's how those mental disorders tend to go. I had a friend I grew up playing football with. He was a quiet guy, but not noticeably strange. He started a downward spiral his Freshman year of college and unfortunately didn't get the help he needed in time. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia after stabbing his father to death in the street because he was so paranoid. Terrible and tragic story, but it happened so fast that nobody really expected it. Parents tend to ignore the symptoms for too long as well. Nobody wants there child to have to go through that.

Guy needs help and I really hope he gets it. Prayers.

Guy needs to have someone who loves him send him somewhere away from everything and reboot his mind. Scary and sad. And, of course, leads to wondering what could cause this.
No, the guy needs to go to the hospital. He might very well be suffering from a significant brain injury.

All those knocks to the head add up.

Sounds like he's gotten his bell rung a few too many times.
No it doesn't. As many others have said it sounds like schizophrenia. He's right squarely in the age window where it is most common.
As someone else said, some studies say that some things like head injuries, cannabis use, and maybe even nicotine increase the chance for someone that's predisposed but they aren't tagged as the root cause.
It sounds like he's got a very real and serious mental health issue that isn't going to end well if it isn't addressed soon. Hopefully he will get that help.

McCalleb is correct there. someone else got hit on the prior return. Can't find it

The real culprits are usually stimulants like amphetamines and cocaine because they release large amounts of dopamine. One mechanism for how these mental disorders work is the neurons are constantly being bombarded with too much dopamine. Its why people who go on long meth and cocaine binges typically appear psychotic with symptoms similar to schizophrenia.
Obviously cannabis can make the paranoia symptoms dramatically worse as well.

Why are you all making excuses for him? He's the son of a celebrity, played big time college football and is now a professional athlete.
He might just now be figuring out that at some point you will be held accountable for your actions.
As long as he's somewhat intelligent with his money he's already set for life. No boo-hoo from me.

I hate to see him in this state - I can only hope he gets the help he needs.

Unlike another fanbase here, I hope things work out for Tre.

absolutely none of that matters if he legitimately has mental health issues. no amount of money in the world can magically fix that, nor can it make the rest of his life "fine." family friend of ours had a son that was a law school graduate at Tulane. His first year out of law school he had a complete breakdown, was diagnosed with Schizophrenia, and has not been able to care for himself ever since (he's now in his 50s). Mental health problems are a real thing and are not something to scoff at because someone signed a professional football contract or may have some money

So you're saying that Tre should be held accountable for being bombarded by auditory hallucinations constantly telling him what to do and what others are thinking about him, extreme paranoid delusions, an overwhelming sense of everyone being out to get you? I'd like you to experience even half the symptoms of Schizophrenia for 24 hours and see if you feel you should be held accountable.

All the best to him. Hope he gets the help he needs.
