Except he did after 9 games in 2018 lol.

Listen carefully. he never started and he did not start in 2019. You have to actually play to have a shot.

I'm not sure why this is so hard for you to understand.

He clearly had his shot in 2018. Fate, luck, or w/e you wanna call took it away quickly.

And he did not get a legitimate shot in 2019. Dude. It's sad that you insist he got a shot. He is clearly better than Franks. You yourself said he was better when he took over in 2018. So, why did he not start when he got healthy?

You either can’t get those red and black glasses off or you can’t read.

Take your pick.

Trask didn’t play all Spring in 2019.

Really? What was wrong with him in the spring? I mean, he was healthy enough to play in the second game, so he was fine in Fall practice.

Look. I am not trolling. I know how it looks with me arguing, but it just seems eerie for people to be arguing that Mullen saw Trasks talent all along.

Trask broke his foot the week he was slated to start against South Carolina in 2018.

That injury kept him out in the Spring of 2019.

No. Trask was going to get a look after that shite-tastic Mizzou game but he didn't outright win the job. Who was the starter for the 2019 QB opener?

Dude if the starting QB gets benched, you play well, and then get 1st string snaps the next week in practice in what world is that not a shot lolol?

Don't be ridiculous.

Can't believe you're seriously saying you're not trolling here haha.

I get what you're saying but he still had several games in 2019 where he still saw Franks as the better option.

The man was still experimenting it was year 2. You think if he lost vs Kentucky and didnt get hurt Mullen wouldn't started Trask the next week? Well you sir are funny

Lol Mullen developed a guy rated 79 into what he is now also what Franks is now. Damn u really are dumb

Denying Mullen's ability to develop its just funny to me sad for u tho. U dont what's in store lol

Fair point but you watched the same Miami game we all did. Franks shouldn't have remained the starter past that game.

Also, Franks was maddening at times, but he was not terrible. And he was talented. And he seemed to fit what Mullen wanted to do.

It was almost like Jekyl and Hyde. he could throw a bomb on a dime (see last play against Tennessee 2017) then turn around and throw picks all over the place. All the talent in the world, just some kind of intangible missing.

Like SoG said, you can understand to a point about Mullen's stubbornness to play him. You just felt like one game everything would click and he would be great from there on out. but it would click, then backfire, then click then backfire and so on and so on.

What games?

Franks struggled against Miami in the opener, played almost a perfect game against UTM, then broke his ankle in the 3rd Q against UK.

It was a rivalry game in the first game of the season.

I don’t think anyone would’ve benched him after 1 game.

Crap dude. As a whole I pride myself for being as even handed and honest as I can be. But whatever.

If you are referring to his bein injured in the spring, I will side with SoG again. He had the fall practice and played in the second game of the season.

I mean the OP is making like Mullen knew all along that Trask was great. That simply isn't true. Do you start a player that you recognize he is great or do you start a player that has a lot of talent but can't seem to put it all together?

If you want to argue that Trask simply was not ready....yeah. I can buy that. Maybe he did not practice well, or just wasn't ready. But don't say that Mullen obviously knew Trask was the better QB and gave him a shot.

Also nobody even knew how good Kentucky was till Trask. Georgia fans were predicting a L I'm pretty sure lol had no idea Mullen had 2 QBs coulda prob won that game after Franks went down.

Fact is he chose Trask

No one is mad.

But I don't see how someone can argue Trask won the job in 2018. That's not accurate.

The OP said Trask was given a shot, won the job with his performance against Missouri, was supposed to start against South Carolina, then got hurt.

Not sure what’s all complicated about that.

How on earth are you reaching that conclusion?

I'm just pointing out the dumb narrative people on here use to knock Mullen is false.

That the "QB whisperer" blindly played bad Franks for 2 years without considering other options (backup Trask). Simply not true. When Franks was really bad he was pulled and our backup, Trask, was given a shot which he capitalized on. Unfortunately poor luck took it away quickly.
