I don't understand Arkansas. They were trending up and Pittman seems to be universally liked. Why is everyone jumping ship?

Most of them didn't see the field.

You can't keep them all if they want playing time.

Personally I think you get it back in check a bit wiht some restrictions. Like no transfers within conference and you have to sit out a year unless there is a coaching change or some appeal is done.

BUt maybe I am old school..
But I think in division/Conference transfers (and yes LSU has benefited from that and been hurt Eli Ricks for example, Max was not a big loss he was going to be 3rd string next year) needs to be addressed quickly.

Almost all if not all of our transfers are from guys that have sunk down the depth chart. That extra COVID year is nice to have experienced guys be able to return but it makes it tough for younger guys to get on the field. All of the transfers wanted to play in the bowl game and there seems to be no ill will

It's not always a bad thing.

I think that is my biggest issue. Transfer in-conference if you like, but sit a year. I'm ok with transferring elsewhere for immediate playing time.

So this doesn't count the mass exodus from LSU in the middle of the season.

Just clarifying.

This. At most, 3 of those transfers actually hurt. Most are people who never played.

What's going on in Fayetteville?

I will give the longer version of what others have said.

We took a lot of players who were just warm bodies. Even when our team had injuries and were running low on gas a lot of these guys never saw the field. If they want to get some playing time in before the end of their career, transfer now.

Add to that someone made a power play on some of DBs from Louisiana and frankly we weren't willing to match that NIL money. We probably won't be willing to splash the cash on NIL until we have another losing season because, as I have said before, Arkansas is notoriously cheap.

What does that mean for next year?

Well we have two big concerns. We need to replace a lot of folks on defense and we lost our home run threat on offense(to the NFL draft). If we can do that... Arkansas won't win the West next year but we can real pain in the arse for everyone else. If not we probably dip back into a losing season and have to rethink how we go about things.

We will, going forward, be blessed with an obscene amount of TE talent. It will take a year or two to get on the field but it is most certainly there and we are a run first team that makes Bert's offense look like the Air Raid. We should be Okay, though we will need to adjust our NIL spending I think, but Arkansas looks to be a team that tries to overcome a talent deficit by just beating the bah-Jesus out of you with the run game.
