They are in the process of evaluating the improvements as we speak.

Considering a tornado actually hit and killed people in Tuscaloosa including a student a few years back this post should be removed.

No tornado hit the Mississippi State campus today.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone pretended to be outraged.
“People have died from tornados, so no tornado jokes are okay, even those having nothing to do with any of the times people died. By the same principle, no jokes about: hurricanes, volcanoes, diving into a pool, falling off a roof, eating corn chips, or being attacked by a deer.”

I'm not pretending. Tornado's have taken the life of a family member...I realize this site is full of many unsophisticated people...but that doesn't mean common sense can't be posted as well.

Sorry you had a family member due from a tornado. I had an uncle who died falling off s roof, but I’ll try not to get offended if people tell jokes that involve someone falling off a roof.

This is a shitty attempt at humor.

If a joke involved a bonfire in general, with no connection to any actual tragedy, then no problem at all.
The OP’s joke, while not that funny, was clearly not trading on any actual events. It’s just a joke calling State’s campus ugly.

Suppose the OP had said:
“State lost control of a bonfire last night and the best building on campus burned down. They’re not sure when they will replace the stables.”
That wouldn’t be that funny, but neither should it get anybody’s panties in a wad.
Edit: If you added to the above joke, “12 of the finest horses in Mississippi perished in the fire,” that would make you deserving of punishment, since it was trading on a real tragedy.

You would have to know about the Texas AM bonfire tragedy to get upset. Tornado are every year, with deaths associated with them.
The OP could have thought it out and phrased the joke better.
"Miss State Campus had major improvements"
It was caused by a tornado hitting the campus. Spokesman for MSU said "Thank God, it saved us millions"

Let's be honest the two things aren't the same even if we live in a world that suggests truth is individual.

Sorry for the loss of your family member. My brother was one street over from it in Tuscaloosa. But you’re fighting a losing battle...just let it go next time.
