Be scared of these guys with Stidham and a real passing scheme..

4. Florida
3. South Carolina
2. Mizzou
1. Alabama
Ole Miss too low IMO.
Auburn will finish top 4
14. Arkansas
quote:
Senior Jared Cornelius, who ranked third on Arkansas in receiving yards last season, is the Razorbacks’ only receiver with more than two career catches, according to SEC Country. There are some players with potential, though, like 6-foot-4 sophomore Brandon Martin. Martin was the No. 1 junior college wide receiver in this year’s recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
13. Kentucky
quote:
Senior Garrett Johnson is the only Wildcats receiver who posted more than 208 yards last season.
12. Vanderbilt
quote:
While Vanderbilt’s wide receiver corps doesn’t have the same level of talent as groups at some other SEC schools, every wide receiver who caught a pass for the Commodores last season is back, including leading receivers C.J. Duncan, Trent Sherfield and Caleb Scott. However, none of Vanderbilt’s receivers had more than 494 receiving yards last year.
11. Georgia
quote:
Projected starters (2016 stats)
Junior Terry Godwin (38 catches, 397 yards)
Senior Javon Wims (17 catches, 190 yards, one TD)
Sophomore Riley Ridley (12 catches, 238 yards, two TDs)
10. LSU
quote:
Senior D.J. Chark, who ranked second on LSU with 466 receiving yards last year, is the only wide receiver on the team who had more than five catches last season
9. Mississippi State
quote:
Projected starters (2016 stats)
Senior Donald Gray (41 catches, 709 yards, five TDs)
Sophomore Jamal Couch (eight catches, 113 yards)
Redshirt sophomore Keith Mixon (19 catches, 228 yards, two TDs)
8. Tennessee
quote:
Projected starters (2016 stats)
Junior Jauan Jennings (40 catches, 580 yards, seven TDs)
Sophomore Tyler Byrd (15 catches, 209 yards)
Sophomore Marquez Callaway (one catch, 13 yards)
7. Auburn
quote:
This is a young, talented group. There’s a lot of internal optimism about sophomore Nate Craig-Myers, a former upper-tier four-star recruit. Craig-Myers had five catches for 154 yards during Auburn’s spring game and caught a touchdown during the Tigers’ scrimmage on Monday.
Projected starters (2016 stats)
Redshirt sophomore Darius Slayton (15 catches, 292 yards, one TD)
Sophomore Nate Craig-Myers (four catches, 70 yards, one TD)
Sophomore Eli Stove (23 catches, 224 yards)
Interesting fact
Slayton is a former Georgia state champion in both the 100- and 200-meter dash.

6. Ole Miss
quote:
Projected starters (2016 stats)
Sophomore A.J. Brown (29 catches, 412 yards, two TDs)
Sophomore D.K. Metcalf (two catches, 13 yards, two TDs)
Redshirt sophomore Van Jefferson (49 catches, 543 yards, three TDs)
5. Texas A&M
quote:
Christian Kirk is a star, a 2016 first-team All-SEC selection who had an SEC-best 83 catches last season for 928 yards and nine touchdowns. Other than Kirk, though, Texas A&M will be dependent on a group of young and/or unproven wide receivers.
Projected starters (2016 stats)
Junior Christian Kirk (83 catches, 928 yards, nine TDs)
Freshman Jhamon Ausbon (no stats)
Senior Damian Ratley (two catches, 26 yards)
Interesting fact
Kirk led the nation with three punt return touchdowns last season.
4. Florida
quote:
Florida’s top five wide receivers from last year in terms of receiving yards are all back, including preseason second-team All-SEC selection Antonio Callaway and senior Brandon Powell.
3. South Carolina
quote:
Projected starters (2016 stats)
Redshirt junior Deebo Samuel (59 catches, 783 yards, one TD)
Redshirt freshman Randrecous Davis (three catches, 45 yards)
Sophomore Bryan Edwards (44 catches, 590 yards, four TDs)
Interesting fact
South Carolina is the only SEC school with two wide receivers who accounted for 590 receiving yards or more last year.
2. Mizzou
quote:
Missouri ranked second in the SEC in passing offense last season. Quarterback Drew Lock is back. So are the Tigers’ top four wide receivers from last year in terms of receiving yards, including 2016 first-team All-SEC selection J’Mon Moore. Moore ranked second in the conference in receiving yards last season.
Projected starters (2016 stats)
Redshirt senior J’Mon Moore (62 catches, 1,012 yards, eight TDs)
Sophomore Dimetrios Mason (47 catches, 587 yards, three TDs)
Redshirt sophomore Johnathon Johnson (24 catches, 435 yards, two TDs)
1. Alabama
quote:
Calvin Ridley is arguably the top wide receiver in the country while Robert Foster is a former five-star recruit with sub-4.4 speed in the 40-yard dash who seems poised for a breakout year. There are also several talented young players such as five-star freshman Jerry Jeudy as well as veterans like Cam Sims and Derek Kief who are also very much in the mix for playing time.
Projected starters (2016 stats)
Junior Calvin Ridley (72 catches, 769 yards, seven TDs)
Redshirt senior Robert Foster (five catches, 55 yards)
Senior Cam Sims (14 catches, 152 yards)
Interesting fact
Only two Alabama wide receivers have been selected in the first round of the NFL draft since 1968 — Julio Jones (2011) and Amari Cooper (2015).
Ole Miss too low IMO.
Auburn will finish top 4

Ole Miss should be higher imho.. Our WR corp is one of the best in SEC
Posted on 8/9/17 at 7:02 pm to BowlJackson
UGA will have a better showing than that. Add Mercole Hardeman and the two Freshman 4 stars to this mix and we will have decent WR corp.

I just don't see it. He's a good receiver but the best in the country? Does anybody else feel this way?

Arkansas is on NON of these lists. It's crazy how unknown we are from an outside perspective. I know this list is based a lot on returning production like most of them but Arkansas is fixing to eat!
State and the Aggies are getting slept on also but we have a better football team then both of them this year.

Best in the SEC for sure.
Kirk is a better football player IMO. He has more all around skill.
Calvin Ridley has an argument as purely a WR, although he and Kirk are still 1a and 1b to me.

Seems right

Ridley. For sure? Sorry. I'll take Antonio Callaway with my first pick, Christian Kirk with my second then MAYBE Ridley.

Oklahoma State's receiver development continues to amaze me.
James Washington, Dez Bryant AND Justin Blackmon.

Y'all were #3 on the QB list. I agree y'all were underrated on the RB list. Losing Rawleigh Williams unexpectedly like that hurt, but if theres one thing Big Bert does well it's RBs.
But when you only return one WR with more than 2 career catches, and that guy is pretty average in terms of talent.. it's kind of hard to not put that group dead last.
Brandon Martin will be very very good for you guys though. I was real high on him when he was committed to Auburn. I hated losing him but his decision was definitely understandable, AU is absolutely loaded with young talent at the position and we have to prove ourselves in the passing game, but at Arky he walks in as the most talented guy in the group and is pretty much guaranteed to start with how much y'all lost, and y'all return one of the better passers in CFB. Good decision for him.

Reek, what happened to your Auburn logo? Couldn't even handle it for a whole 24 hours?

Based on the criteria of this list, their spot is justified. They return more production than anybody.
Based on pure talent though, they're probably right at the middle of the pack.

Yes.
That mullet probably attracts them, too.
