Franklin should be on the list. He won at Vandy.

Uh, Dan Mullen is wayyy ahead of Tuberville, I mean c'mon dude. Hell, not only did he win natty's as an OC, but when he left MSU for Florida, which at the time was a dumpster fire, in his first year he got them to an SEC championship game.

I dgaf what happened his last year, he was a solid coach all the previous years. End of story.

2004 Auburn team was better then anything Mullen ever did.

Surprised how few wins Stallings had. But it makes sense when you remember he was a NFL coach before Alabama

Kirby is off to an incredible start but still has less than 100 wins. I don't know how you rank him.

And I find the argument that winning a NC automatically puts you on the list unappealing. Coker, Orgeron, and Chizik give the lie to that assumption

Stallings won a title but other than that his tenure was pretty short. He is a really good guy. I have met him twice at religious events

Agreed. That was a travesty. They earned that one.

I feel Jackie Sherrill should be on here. What he accomplished at MSU was impressive with how crappy our resources were then

It's because his list doesn't start until 1992, so any wins before 1992 aren't included.

Basically looking at a total of 5 seasons.

Overall, counting the forfeits as a loss, he was 62-25 @ Alabama for a 71% win rate.

The forfeits were bullshite however. So his real record at Alabama is 71-16 and a 81.6% win rate.

That’s a good list nothing I’d really argue about

Umm, no he didn’t.

He did in his 3rd year. The Covid year. And he only did so because Jamie Newman screwed over Georgia and Georgia had to play Bama during the regular season.

Leach is way better than Mullen.

1. Saban
2. Spurrier
3. Urban
4. Stallings
5. Kirby

And I don't think anyone really deserves mention beyond here to be honest.

Saban is obviously #1

Spurrier is obviously #2

Urban would be my #3 but I can see the argument against having him quite this high

Not sure what to do with Kirby but I’ll slot him here at #4

Phil, Les, Stallings are clearly the next 3. Debatable what order they’d go in. I would have Phil and Les tied for 5th and Gene 7th

Tubs I think would have to be 8th

Could go a lot of different ways with the last two spots. I’ll put Richt 9th and Mullen 10th

Les was 114-34 at LSU

Gene was 33-19 at Auburn

Not exactly the same thing

1. Saban
2. Spurrier
3. Urban Meyer
4. Kirby Smart

Gap

5. Fulmer
6. Miles
7. Richt
8. Stallings
9. Tuberville

Gap

10. Malzahn/Orgeron/Nutt/Sherill

Hard to put a guy who never played for the SEC championship (Stoops) on this list. Good coach for sure, but what separates him from James Franklin, Rich Brooks, Hugh Freeze, or Petrino?

Someday Auburn fans will get over their complex with Malzahn and realize a national title appearance, 1 SEC title, and another SEC appearance isn’t too shabby in the shadow of Saban.

Frustrating to watch ><= bad

is Harsin an upgrade over Malzahn? - NO WAY

would I want Malzahn back at Auburn? - NO

is Malzahn in the SEC Top Ten of coaches over the past 30 years? NO

Malzahn is an "okay" coach. He can get you 7 to 8 wins a year - will beat a team he isn't supposed to beat and lose to a team that he should beat - he didn't develop talent on offense and didn't recruit as well as he should.

Did I say I disliked the coach? No I didn't - but I sure don't think is a top 10 SEC coach over the past 30 years

That's ridiculous. It is literally the only reason any coach is hired at the P5 level...to win a NC. To discount that is insane. Ask Georgia fans if they wouldn't trade all of Richts success for Chizik, Oregeron, or Coker's tenure with a NC.
