part of the reason is they want to go to a college with a resort like campus next to lake and nestled in foothills of the mountains near the mountains.
plus it isn't as hot.
and Clemason has much better gameday atmosphere and lore than the florida schools.
it doesn't make muchsense to contend that somehow little Clemson can out cheat the florida schools. if clemson cheating u know the florida schools are.

FSU joined in the 90s when CU fell off from being top 10 in the 80s.
the conference was a lot smaller back then too, no va tech, miami, etc.
FSU hasn't won it that much since expansion.
if FSU and CU weren't in same division, it is likely they wouldn't have as many recent ACC titles and clemson would have more.
