Let's talk strategy here.

These camps usually aren't going to net much for the immediate class. A coach has to identify his needs about 1-2 classes ahead and find his top targets for those classes. Then, you set up a satellite near them, make sure those kids get there, and start building the relationship then.

That's probably better than picking popular metro areas if you are trying to recruit out of your typical areas. Michigan probably isn't going to sign a lot of guys from Georgia just because of a camp they held in Atlanta, unless they're looking for guys that UGA/Bama/UF/GT/Auburn/Ole Miss happen to overlook.

Why would you hold camps in SEC states??? derp a derp

the point is to expand your brand.

So:

Cbus, Ohio
LA, California
Chicago, Illinois

all 3 cities are ties to a bunch of talent.

I think under our old recruiting staff, that'd be the wise way to go. Under the current staff, though, we've got enough firepower to go on the offensive in otherwise unfamiliar territory. The whole point of these camps has been to build inroads into areas that the SEC has traditionally owned. It's an offensive strategy which is why the SEC is considering allowing it to pass. With this staff, if like to see UGA go on the offensive around the country. It's not as though we're redoing our recruiting philosophy; were just holding a few camps here and there

Disagree. No matter who the recruiters are, the UGA brand means a lot more and will produce more results with top recruits at a camp in Charlotte than a camp in Los Angeles or Columbus.

Edit: northern schools are coming south because there are more players here. That doesn't translate to southern schools heading elsewhere.

Just hold all the camps in the USA in Pine Bluff. If you get out alive, you keep what you can.

Amherst, Stanford, Evanston, Durham, and Oxford (England). Might as well play to our strengths.
