Charles Huff from Southern Miss lol He's at Memphis right now
Would be dude’s fourth job in four years.
Memphis coaches at other jobs have, so far, been whelming. No one has really set the world on fire even when they land at schools like FSU.
Silverfield is at Arkansas and is... there. Maybe he's being hampered by our AD, I wouldn't doubt that, but he also hasn't proven to be the second coming of Bear Bryant as an in game HC.

Arkansas should be praying Maryland sees something in Silverfield.

Surprised Mullen wasn't mentioned. He supposedly interviewed there when they hired Locksley.
Plus, they have a Target there. So Megan would be happy.

Please tell me Mike Elko's name is on the list.
One would think/hope so! He's got the mid-Atlantic recruiting especially on the D side, covered like a blanket.
But don't be so sure this wouldn't hurt the Ags more than it helps. His agent will finagle a raise and extension from it even in a losing season, that's how dumb our athletic department lawyers are in drawing up contracts.

I don't think I would leave JMU for Maryland

Even before norvell at fsu, Justin Fuente was one of the hottest coaching names amongst up and comers. He crashed and burned spectacularly at vatech

Man, he was a hot name. Rumor was, guy hated recruiting, and when he was being considered at SC-post Spurrier, he didn't vet. Didn't want the headache of HS recruiting.
Perhaps he'd be successful with a competent GM?

Hopefully BK, so LSU can save about 30 million

Why not Glenn Schumann?
because he will have much, much better offers than maryland whenever he's ready to take the next step.

How are the golf courses in the area?

If they can get their NIL together Maryland is a very attractive job.

There's a deep hatred between the two programs that I cannot understand, even being a part of.
I mean their hate is definitely weird and not something youd predict, but for the old timers the UMD/SC hate makes sense. Hell we got in fights with them. So I think a lot of the older fans from each program hold onto that hate, and even passed it on (like in my case).
Screw UMD, the same as screw UNC.
*I do agree that Shane could do some really good things with Maryland though. Thats kind of the right spot for him. Good recruiting area, lower pressure, teams he can beat consistently

Can't imagine paying that buyout anytime soon.

I'll be honest, I think a bit of shine has come off Schuman. At least to me personally. Circa 2018ish you could make a lot of parallels between him and a young kirby at the early stage of both careers. But the longer Schu runs the defense the more he looks kinda pedestrian which was never the case with kirby.
Lanning and Muschamp had the D humming, then when both departed and it was solely schuman's it took a dip. I will say this year he's gotten back on track and ti's been solid again but I don't think his stock is nearly as high now as it was say 5 years ago.
He will be a great hire though for a mid-level P4 program to cut his teeth. Him starting out at a high level pressure cooker would not be ideal, IMO.

Which is why I mentioned him for Maryland. FSU isn't opening up and neither is Wisconsin. Both mid-level P4 programs. Do you see another coaching job opening up? I guess we'll find out in 1-2 weeks or it'll be too late because of recruiting.
