we aren't the tigers we are the fighting tigers, not named after a animal but one of the baddest and nastiest militia groups during the civil war

I vote for LSU Swamp Kitties.

I'm down... The sec has three of the five schools that have "tiger" mascots?

Um....there are about 10 teams in the NCAA with Tigers as mascots, but you were halfway there.

Let's see: Pacific, Grambling, Memphis, Clemson Princeton, Auburn, Mizzou, Jackson St?, LSU.......forgot a couple.......

LSU is the only team with a cool story behind choosing the Tiger. I'm pretty sure AU and Mizzou just picked it because they liked it.

In all seriousness, there are only two teams that come to mind when you think about the Tigers: The Detroit Tigers and LSU Tigers. Hell, LSU has a freaking live caged tiger as their mascot and play in a football stadium called Tiger Stadium. What else do they have to do to prove they are the Tigers?

Man, you are a damn Tide fan. You have no vote in this. How does a pachyderm become the "Crimson Tide" anyway (serious question).

I know our AU Tiger/War Eagle/ Plainsman thing is confusing.

You guys bitch about trivial things.

Mascot names? Really? I got grandfathered into the "cocks."

Count your blessings.

If Mizzou is counting wins then you are way behind LSU and Auburn. Both those tigers have over 700 wins.

I linked it to show the origin of Mizzou being called the Tigers. Didn't read past that.

ETA: Mizzou does have 629 all-time wins, which surprises me somewhat, given how shitty our program has been in the past.

We will just go back to the Fighting Tigers of Missouri then. You guys can just be the LSU Mike the Tigers. Or the LSU Mike's.

How about LSU retains the Tiger name since we have mike, Auburn goes as war eagle or plainsman and Missouri can be a kitten or something... Sound good

We should add Clemson too. That way, we'd have four Tigers, two Death Valleys, and a shared four colors of Purple, gold, navy, and orange.

ETA: I've always loved when they call us the "Bayou Bengals" on TV.

How about since Auburn had it first that LSU just take a short walk off of a tall cliff?
