The nature of our offense is vertical so its common sense that we'll take more shots at the deep routes where he led the nation in plays over 25 yards. Mallett had one interception that could be tied to a loss and that could potentially be LSU...although he led the drive that put us ahead with less than 2 minutes
Arkansas does like to slice and dice rather than wear and tear. If Mallet had LSU's WRs they could inflict serious damage.

let me correct that.. He had 5 Td's and 6 Int's in 6 of the 8 SEC games passing. With an additional 2 rushing TD's.

Ok.. fine. Add 2 Td's to his total and 1 to Gmac.
no...you said SEC play

Move the ball all you want, but when you have 6 SEC games, where your QB only tosses for 1 TD or less, and has a TD/INT ratio of 7 Tds to 6 Int's, then he's not being effective
Football is a team game...when Mallett had decent time he dominated. You shore up stopping that pass rush or have a better running game and those numbers will be much different like you will see in 2010

Georgia (horrible defense last yr)
Miss St (3-5 SEC play)
OOC games (weak competition)

Bama 1 TD 0 Int's
Auburn 2 TD 1 Int
Florida 1 TD 0 Int
Ole Miss 1 TD 0 Int
S.C. 0 TD 0 Int
Lsu 1 TD 1 Int
Let me correct us both again.. 6 Td's and 2 Int's in 6 of 8 SEC games. I included INt's from the Miss St game by accident originally.

GMAC was 10/20 for 92 yards and 2 TD's against USC...
Mallett also had more TD production against Auburn

McElroy had a better completion rate. Mallett had 10 of his TD's against Ga and Miss St. Mallett had double the interceptions, in only 38 more pass attempts.
You are getting away from the point...We were talking about stats if Mallet played for Bama with the same talent around him that McElroy has...not with the talent he had at Arky...my whole argument is simple...McElroy is not the best QB in the league...not even in the top 3...you people never take into account what the talent level around the QB is...

Should be....
1. Mallett
2. Newton
3. Masoli/Stanley
4. McElroy
5. Relf/Russell
6. Jefferson
How do you rank QBs that haven't even seen meaningful PT against SEC Ds?
1. Mallet
2. McElroy
3. Relf
4. Jefferson
5. Newton
6. Masoli

I guess you missed the 2nd half of the Va Tech game as well as the IB and SECCG. Ingram and Richardson get most of the credit (deservingly so) but McElroy stepped up at times and led us to victories.

Was UF one of the worst pass defenses in the SEC? Y'all can hate all you want but McElroy has delivered and played with broken ribs because he's a TEAM player.

Do you guys really think that McElroy is better than a Jake Locker, or a Matt Barkley, or a Terrelle Pryor?
I don't but the discussion about SECw QBs and McElroy has performed and dealt with the pressure of facing the best week in and week out.

I can sum all 7 pages into one post. Mallett is the better gunslinger, however, McElroy is the better Quarterback.

Just curious, Bama fans...
When we went 7-1 in the SEC in 2006, was that due to Mitch Mustain(who is a punter now), or Darren McFadden and Felix Jones?
