McElroy won't ever "get you beat". That's a big deal when the rest of your team is strong.

You just proved my point...and you need to change that to McElroy "hasn't" gotten you beat...if it wasn't for that "strong" team surronding him you would have had a couple losses last season....

The couple of times we needed McElroy to step up and deliver in the passing game, he did. The biggest time, was against your team, Aubie83.

As I said before...you didn't win because of him, but in spite of him...

Im a third party person in this conversation and I watched the Iron Bowl. Bama didnt win B/c of McElroy they won b/c of their defense in the 2nd half and b/c of their running game.

Chris Todd = more yards, more TDs, and higher passer rating than McElroy.

I guess you idiots think Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Marino.

Yeah it was McElroy that did the work on that last drive. The running game was nonexistent the whole game.

A monkey can hit wide open receivers 6 yards down the field after blantant pick routes.

I'm halfway kidding, although there were two big plays on that drive that were no doubt illegal routes. However, I would never expect the ref to actually call it. Back to the original point, a guy trying to tout Greg McElroy as a top QB talking about others living in a fantasy world is pretty laughable even coming from a bama fan.

FWIW I did see the last drive and it was more Julio Jones making plays than McElroy IMO.

Oh the irony...this statement comes from a fan from the team that touts McElroy as the best QB in the SEC....out of all of your statements you removed yourself from the point of the thread...no one is taking anything from McElroy...no one can take away his record...but it helps as one of you Bammer friends said, that he is surrounded by a "strong" team...your strong team had more to do with your season that McElroy...as someone else said...you could replace McElroy with Mallet and you would have still been 14-0...but better statistcally speaking...McElroy at Arky = more losses...

That someone was me, and the Gump fans never responded to that statement about switching Mallett and McElroy. (Because they know its the TRUTH)

The screen to Richardson was the killer regardless of any pick routes.

McElroy is a better QB than Mallett. In SEC play here are their stats:

Mallett

139-272 passing for 51%
15 TD's and 6 Int's
2189 yds

McElroy

140-234 passing for 60%
12 TD's and 3 Int's
1723 yds

McElroy had a better completion rate. Mallett had 10 of his TD's against Ga and Miss St. Mallett had double the interceptions, in only 38 more pass attempts.

Mallett believes he's #2, or he's a closet Longhorn fan!

I can't wait to see how many TD's McElroy has against Ga. St.
