Someone from Birmingham shitting on Atlanta is about as bad as the Baton Rouge and NOLA posters on here.

Afraid not, those who know both cities are just nodding their heads. Even those GA citizens. Atlanta is the South's shithole and most of the residents know it. Even Buckhead is a scary place.

It's just cute for him to claim that about Auburn but not UGA. The joke about "what does the UGA grad call the GT grad?" still exists because they get mad over it.

UGA is better if you want to go to law school. Tech is better if you want computer science or engineering. But both have higher admissions standards than Auburn, which is why all of Georgia's rejects pick Auburn (and/or Alabama) as backup schools. But this isn't Alabama hate week, it is Auburn hate week, so we're focusing on Auburn. It is very cute, really.

No backup, again AU put a cap on OOS and the acceptance letters are first come first serve based on their scores. No backup with these kids anymore, even if the lotto makes it cheaper to go to UGA.

AU grads in engineering and other tech programs are going to the Tech Hub of the South (and soon nation) and bypassing Atlanta. Nobody wants to live in Atlanta if they plan to have a family. Huntsville is much more attractive.

Those fortune 500 companies moved to Atlanta due to space downtown, numbers of hiring candidates, minority hiring and the tax breaks the State offers. Birmingham is medical and banking, which attacks a certain profile of employees.

Okay? Isn't it a good thing when big corporations re-locate to another city?

Da fuk are you talking about? And why aren't non banking and medical businesses locating to Birmingham?
BTW every big city in the country is full of medical and medical support opportunities. It means Jack Squat in term of real economics

Boy, I guess I interact with hundreds of intelligent, well compensated and seemingly happy people on a daily basis who apparently have no idea what they truly want.

Georgia appreciates the AU fans. They can be found at the drive thru windows at McDonalds thru out Atlanta and the state. Without them who would hand us our fast food?

I'm not talking about dog dads, I'm talking about human babies

I haven't seen one in Atlanta in years

For about 12 years I have been under the impression that I actually have human children, but after reading that post I went into Google Photos and looked a little closer and discovered that they are in fact hamsters.

Really regretting how much I've sunk into those things financially at this point.

I love Atlanta. Was born and raised there. It’s a wonderful place to live and visit. No one wants to live in Alabama. Can’t think of a single place in the entire state that’s worth a visit much less living in

Why all the hostility?

Birmingham doesn't need to be Atlanta. Atlanta doesn't need to be Birmingham. They're both OK in their own regards, as is Baton Rouge, NOLA, Nashville. Individuals favor one city for reasons the next person does not care for. That's called being human. Yall want to argue over BS.

I did hear that Atlanta has the largest LGBTQIA+ community in the country.

I like Birmingham and Atlanta. I acknowledge both have major flaws.

And to be clear, Baton Rouge is not ok in any regard. Are you a psychopath

I just got back from sneaking into the Total Wine on Peachtree by Brookhaven Marta. Had to avoid a few bands of cannibals off Dresden but I was able to pick up a couple cases of 19 Crimes until we can find our way to a prosperous place like Gadsden.

Hostility is almost exclusively reserved for Atlanta from those in other parts of the South. We don't really care. Birmingham is fine. Nashville is fine. Charlotte is not a real place.

Well that's definitely not true, but it does have a relatively large scene in various parts of the inner Metro (Midtown/Decatur specifically). But in shear numbers it isn't close to San Fransisco, Los Angeles, New York or probably Miami.

What part of Atlanta do you live ? I have a nephew who lives in Buckhead and he said that area is riddled with crime now. He has a lot of money, and money can't help you outrun the issues of Atlanta. Buckhead used to be bullet proof. Now downtown is so much worse. I guess your people huddle up in the corner and pretend everything is fine.

Yeah, BS. Aside from Vanderbilt, we probably have the lowest amount of sidewalk fans of any school in the SEC. Most of our fans have some sort of connection to the university.

Brookhaven - along with thousands of other families who are living our lives with various levels of irritations and joys depending on the day or week. Crime has certainly gotten worse since the pandemic, yes. I don't know a single person that we interact with on a daily/weekly basis that has left the city or even considered it. It's not a thing. Kids staying in public school vs private? Constant discussion. Moving out of Atlanta for somewhere else because of safety? Quite literally never discussed.

I dunno anyone huddling in a corner Just working, going to softball fields, walking to dinner on Friday night, going to Braves games, going to church. Normal life activities.

Petti, on the other hand, might have a doomsday bunker built and ready for when the gangs take over?

The flaws of Birmingham are isolated to certain areas. Sad but true. Have you seen what they are doing with downtown lately. What the area around Railroad Park, Sloss and even toward the new Stadium. The new Mayor has his shite together but let's keep it a secret as long as we can. Then go to Huntsville and see what is going on there. Atlanta is just about to Liberal themselves into becoming the new Detroit.

Atlanta is fine. There are bad parts just like any big city but it’s nearly as bad as you are making it out to be
