I wouldn't go that far but if I were allowed to make a request of Saban it would be if the game starts going their way to not let up or call off the dogs.

A Bama win helps the sec in that they are seen as an automatic “in” every year. As long as Bama holds that clout, nearly any Sec team that knocks them out is also an automatic in to the playoffs.
While other elite conferences have missed out on the playoffs in some years, the SEC never has, and have had representatives from other sec schools; which imho is because of Bama.
On the flip side....

Why shouldn't we go for the SEC team? More exposure and money for the entire conference. A&M is recruiting at an all-time high, a lot to do with the exposure Alabama has given the SEC
