Lance, a radio guy here in Bham, said that TN is 1-28 in their last (29) match ups against top 25 opponents. That can't be right? Anyone know for sure? That's incredible if true.

I think so.

And not just the record, but giving up the biggest home lead in school history this past weekend.

Who is the 1? South Carolina?

Since Phillip Fulmer's final season as coach in 2008, the Vols are 2-29 against ranked teams. If you include the 0-4 mark against ranked teams in the final season under Fulmer, who was 42-37-1 against ranked teams during his tenure, Tennessee astonishingly has just two wins in its past 35 games against ranked teams. Both wins were against South Carolina, in 2009 (under Lane Kiffin) and 2013 (Butch Jones' first year as Tennessee's coach).

Heard them say that on Saturday morning on one of the pre-game shows. Was shocking to hear.

We must all remember that Butchy has proclaimed to the masses that "we are no where close to where we need to be yet" and that classic masonry line "brick by brick" and the never soon to be forgotten "its a process".

Pray tell UT folkdom...just WHERE are you now? You are not where you need to be? Where in the hell do you need to be?
I have consulted my 1968 magic bowling ball/physic forsee all and know all for the answers. The reply I got was "you really dont wanna know"

It sucks as a stat, but I'm seriously not understanding how anyone is surprised by it given how shitty we've been since '08 and how good the SEC has been.

We can't beat Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, we only beat Ole Miss when they sucked, and we accidentally beat Steve Spurrier this one time. We schedule home and aways against Oregon and Oklahoma and we've lost to Vanderbilt and Kentucky in recent years. And then people see that we've gone 1-28 against ranked teams and they're like "BUT HOW CAN THIS BEEEEEEEEEE?"

Yeah, it's THAT BAD. I mean did you totally ignore the last several years?
