Dude tried to weasel into a loophole and get nfl players to sue to play, they’re having to fix it and you want people to thank him?
Not to belabor the point but someone was going to try recruiting NFL players at some point. Kiffin just happened to be the first. He forced the conferences/universities to finally take a stand against it—so, yes, you can thank him.
The conferences/universities could have made the ruling much sooner but were probably just waiting so it could all play out.

I swear people don't know the specifics. The rule still allows players to go to NFL mini camp and still come back to college. It is so dumb where they choose to draw the line. If you really don't want pro athletes in college, then make it a full stop rule.
Stop all pro players from college basketball (close to 100 total) and any player that was in the draft or stepped foot on in an NFL mini camp.

LSU needs to remove anything Ryan Clark related from its history books.

CajunBama is more intelligent and respected in Louisiana than Tim Brando. The other idiot isn't even worth mentioning.

Just about everyone associated with LSU doesn't like Clark. We've all wanted him to just go away and not ever mention LSU again.

Who did bama play?
Charles Bediako.
Bediako played two seasons at Alabama (2021–2023) before going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft. He signed professional contracts in the NBA system and spent time in the NBA G League with the Austin Spurs, Grand Rapids Gold, and Motor City Cruise.
In January 2026, Bediako sought to return to college basketball. He sued the NCAA in a Tuscaloosa court and was granted a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO), allowing him to immediately rejoin Alabama’s active roster.
Bediako made a brief return, playing in five games for Alabama (starting with a 13-point performance against Tennessee).
