BCS formula should have been kept and just take the top 4 teams and run them through a playoff.
but there had to be more controversy to generate more $$$ so the committee was formed

If Ole Miss runs the table and goes to Atlanta vs a one loss UGA Alabama is done no matter what. One spot to a one loss Oregon. One spot to FSU. One to the SEC Champ and that leaves only one.
At that point Alabama would have beaten two of the teams in the first poll and beaten a ranked LSU team that beat number 3 , and would have probably the top strength of schedule in the whole thing.
But they will give it to either Michigan State MSU Notre Dame or the Big 12 champ. There will not be 2 SEC teams in it if they can muster another team with the same record as the second SEC team.

I love where Alabama is ranked! We still play the #1 and #3 teams, currently, in the playoff format.
