Secondly, I don’t know how fast he was going; never said I did. The article just said it was because he was at least 20 mph over. That to me was unusual because traffic through Atlanta is commonly 15-20 miles over.
Once again screw you; and you’re impending 4 loss season. Again!
I clarified my original comment to say that 20 MPH over the limit won't get you arrested, it's when you're going 20 MPH past the limit and swerving through traffic.

Hence, the problem. Yes, we all enjoy watching them beat the shite out of each other, over the weekend, on the designated field of play wearing the appropriate clothing. We do not, at least I do not, enjoy the same folks violently operate a motor vehicle in our same shared spaces. And that, my man, is exactly the problem.
Then you are a part of the problem. I understand it’s not good. But if you are actively watching the sport and criticizing what the criminals do then you are a hypocrite.
Pick one. Ray Lewis murdered a man and got away with it. Did it outrage you so much that you stopped watching football? Probably not. Either you boycott the thing or you don’t really do anything in my opinion. Every team has awful pieces of shite is all I’m saying.

Tell me of this "Atlanta" you drive in. Because the Atlanta I have to drive through, from time to time, often runs about 15 MPH over for short stretches before everything screeches to an immediate stop.

Son, you're talking to the dude that was - on the GI Bill - very meticulous about staying away from the players dorms at UT. Because only trouble comes from there. Even though I was a couple years bigger and wiser than the average kid at the time, those dudes were just trouble walking.
Shall we all boycott it ? And end it ? Maybe so. But I don't think that's what you want.
What a lot of people want, I'm pretty sure, is Georgia players and players of every other school not trying to re-create Fast and Furious on the streets. That doesn't seem like too big of an ask.

He avoids Athens so a Georgia player or staff member can't run into the back of his car.

Yes. All teams have pieces of shite on the roster. Truth is, most of these teams are chock full of dudes you wouldn't allow in your house, or with your daughter. White, Black, Yellow - very few of them are "good". They're gladiators.
I'm never moved by the "it's not fair" argument. Maybe it's not fair that this time, one of these gladiators got caught. I care not. No more than I cared when my kids bitched because Little Johnny across the street never got punished.

It seems like a big ask of me bc you, as an intimidating man, still knew to not go around the football players at UT. Bc they are pieces of shite. This is reality. You’ve witnessed it.
So bc of the modern world and the love we give athletes, yes, it is too big of an ask. It’s not going to change. The players make the school billions of dollars - is it right? Of course not. Is it going to change bc you identify the obvious problem in front of you? Nope. So either don’t watch or no offense, you’re kind of a hypocrite for shaking your fingers at thugs while you kick back and watch them perform on Saturdays. It ain’t good but It is what it is.
And what I’m really saying is the guys posting on here acting like their school is better bc their players aren’t getting arrested are really stupid. The majority of football players are pieces of shite. Deal with it. Or don’t watch.

You're asking kids with brand-new supercharged cars not to speed. The exact age demographic has the highest insurance rates because they speed so much. We can ask all day, but they'll still drive fast. It's happened since the invention of cars. It's not going to stop anytime soon.

It should be noted as I was driving back from Athens last night, I was consistently at least 10 mph over and there were plenty of people flying by me. However the person who nearly caused a serious accident was the idiot that was going 0 mph while stopped at traffic light on a cross street with the nose of their car a third of the way into the right lane. I hate the weavers, but honestly, it is often idiocy rather than speed that is the root of an accident. Speed contributes because you have less time to account for other’s idiocy.

80 in a 55 was normal for 2-85 about 20-25 years ago. Has that changed?

A fair paragraph. Here's the deal. Will I watch them beat the shite out of each other on Saturday ? Yeah.
Do I give two shits what calamity befalls each of them ? No. Would I let any of them - any of them - in my house ? No. It's literally, for me, no different than watching gladiator games. I have no emotionally attachment to these kids at all. None.
I'm giving them no "love". It's just cheap entertainment until I turn it off. And there is no "hypocrisy" if and when I'm in my truck and some school vehicle aims itself at me. I'll use the full extent of my F-250 against them with no remorse.
What are you trying to accomplish ? A boycott of watching the thugs on Saturday's ? Nah. You're just trying to say "shut up" because you got nothing better to defend the little cherubs.
Posted on 9/4/23 at 12:44 pm to Griffindawg
It’s “thug” behavior to speed now? Haha So you’ve never been 20 over? Pussy.
The illegal street racing culture that seems prevalent in Athens is rather thuggish.

Lol is it a fair paragraph or am I defending pieces of shite? I don’t see how I’m defending these thugs - I am more taking aim at people on here comparing programs saying they are better due to their criminals getting caught less lmao.
We sound in agreement until you just went off the rails by the end of your paragraph

Look, I enjoyed watching UFC and McGregor. Of course, McGregor was a prick and I could call him such early and often. The idea that I could either watch McGregor, or call him a prick and not watch, is asinine.
That's what you're trying to state. And no. Just no. I can watch the carnage while I note and enjoy the folly of the actors.
Every college football roster is made up mostly of pricks. It's not a grouping of Boy Scouts. And I don't give two shits about the "fairness" of taking away Georgia's car keys just because other kids are doing it too.
