I had no idea the SEC was ever on TBS.
I do miss the Braves on it though.

I remember the 1991 Vols game against Mississippi State on TBS. Vols came from behind to win 26-24 on a scorcher of a day. Vols were playing on that artificial turf at the time. Field surface temperature was over 130 degrees. Smokey literally passed out on the field from the heat.

Which channel were the Jefferson Pilot games back in the 90s?

They showed those games on local affiliates as well. Didn't have cable but still got those games.

College football can thank Oklahoma and Georgia for being able to see their favorite team on tv. They took on the NCAA and won.

It varied from market to market
In Baton Rouge it was the CBS affiliate.
I hated it because the local Baton Rouge affiliate (WAFB) would either let the JP run over and you would miss the beginning of the CBS game, or the opposite would happened and they would cut the JP game off early for the start of the CBS game

We didn't have cable and depending on the weather would have to get the game out of Atlanta or Chattanooga, usually out of Atlanta. I wasn't familiar with the Chattanooga stations unless we were trying to watch a game that wasn't coming in clearly from Atlanta.
It wasn't under I actually had to learn RF wave propagation that all of that made sense.

Jefferson Pilot at 11:00am. Basketball games were at 8am-1pm. Kids need to sweat and be competitive.
Soul Train at 12.
High Noon, for Soul Train.
Thundercats were over. Go expore the Earth.

assuming it was WAFB - and if LSU was playing the CBS game then WAFB would cut the JP game off way early and swtich to the national CBS Pregame Show at 2:00 pm
