NCAA has 4:00 quarters, you need a quick offense. That's nothing to be ashamed of, Leach beat everyone when they were collectively bad. I doubt that he would have the same success with the new Big 12.

Tech's jersey combo is Black jersey, silver pants. You know the same jersey that Zach Thomas wore when your day was ruined by a pick 6?

Pure trash -- our bball team had to fight their way to the locker room after a buzzer-beater win in 1994. Tech fans blocked the exit to the locker room, and were shoving with the players before all hell broke loose.
Most of their fans are Saturday warriors only -- generally uneducated about their teams, recruiting, etc. Unaccustomed to winning -- their only two actual conference "championships" are bogus; one was shared with UH (who won the head-to-head), and the other was a four-way split between all the teams in the old SWC when (an undefeated) A&M was on probation in '94.

Just a bunch of future washouts who couldn't get in anywhere else. And they have a mental Napoleonic complex because of it - which manifests in weird behavior towards visiting teams.

I was at this game. Was sitting next to McKinneys dad. We left right before all hell broke loose and McKinneys dad got punched. Was wild.
All jokes aside I grew up in West Texas but got the frick out at the earliest convenience. Have a lot of friends that went there and when we left the B12 Tech became my favorite school for the their die hard commitment to general debauchery and drunken buffoonery. Also how they told us good luck in the SEC and told texas to frick off with the longhorn network. Threatened to cancel the game if it was broadcast on the LHN.

They were cool for most part after we played them in the Cotton Bowl... Lots of hot women... Some of the fans got a little rowdy at the bar after the game but they were drunk meat heads and we had just beaten the brakes of their team and fricked them out of a top 5 final ranking so...

I wasn't in Lubbock for "Goalpostgate," but I have been to 4 games there.
I never really had any problems. Sure, some drunk cussing and stuff, but overall a typical opposing team fanbase.
I'm sure the stories people tell about Tech's fans are true, but it just has never been my experience.

My brother and his wife went there.. They love to have the bad rep. Knowing how hog fans act, I expect to hear about quite a few fights this weekend.
