Personally speaking, I haven't been this unsure about how Auburn is going to play through a season before. Talent-wise, we are impressive. Experience is clearly an important factor and we are really lacking in that department. I'm not sure if our talent can pull us through our minefield of a schedule without too much harm but it should be fun to watch.

My Analysis:

QB: Most likely will end up Barrett Trotter getting the nod at QB with Keihl Frazier getting Tebow circa 2006 kind of reps. At least, this is what I hope happens. Clint Moseley could very well get the job.

RB: Dyer. Kid is an animal when healthy and Onterio McCalebb gives us great speed of the edge. Also, for those who haven't heard, watch out for Tre Mason. He's looking like a gamechanger.

WR: Emory Blake will be our go-to WR this season with Quindarius Carr, DeAngelo Benton, *Quan Bray, *Trovon Reed, Sammie Coates, and *Travante Stallworth getting most of the reps.

* are for Wildcat Position players (which we didn't have to use last year because Cam could do QB and Wildcat)

OL: Surprisingly enough, our O-Lineman (although young) are shaping up to be a pretty solid group with a pretty comfortable 2-deep.

DL: Pretty solid group of kids but the DT's are going to need to step up to be able to consistently put pressure on opposing QB's. Our DE's are strong and lightning fast so we should have a great pass rush this year.

LB: We've got a couple ballers like Eltoro Freeman (although inconsistent in past seasons) and Darren Bates but the rest are going to have to prove themselves. Talent is there, though.

DB: Probably the most talented position group on our defense this year, honestly. Watch out for Erique Florence, Johnathan Rose, Demetruce McNeal, Johnathon Mincy, and T'Sharvan Bell. Neiko Thorpe should have a more specialized role this year so he won't be getting smoked by speedy WR's as much (hopefully).

Special Teams: Should be solid like last year. Although, losing one of the most clutch kickers in recent years at Auburn could hurt in pressure situations.

Be realistic and give me your prediction for Auburn and if you're up for it, a personal evaluation of your team.

You pretty much said to "watch out" for everyone on your team.

Good list and analysis. But I still have not been hearing much about Ladarius Phillips, Craig Sanders, CJ or Dee Ford in most of Auburns videos or write ups...

Id really like to see Craig get some playing time. I think he could be unreal but it looks like second string behind Nosa for him.

I did see Ladarius Phillips catch a few balls in the scrimmage but I also heard that Chizik was upset with him because he wanted him to drop a few pounds and he checked in last week at 290. It may be the doghouse for him.

I do agree that it is going to be a very difficult year to predict. I certainly think we will start off slow and do better as we gain a little playing time. Unfortunately for us, we do not have a schedule that allows that.

Last year you guys had Cam, Nick Fairly, a veteran offensive line and a chip on your shoulders and Cam squeezed out wins against Clemson, USCe, Bama, Arkansas and LSU.
Now you guys lose all your strengths, coming off a BCSNC and lose Cam. You guys will lose 4 games minimum. You guys will have a bullseye on your backs and ALOT of teams lost close games last year and will be looking to finish the games on you.
Remember, Cam wont be there to bail your team out and carry you to a Victory.

Auburn will surprise some teams similar to CHiz first season on the Plains.. I have confidence in the Tigers and Gus.. No we wont go undefeated but you better believe AU will not just roll over. LSU/BAMA/ARK will be competitive games

Yeah, not sure why I forgot him. Definitely going to be a gamer. Regardless of Eltoro's depth chart position, he's a freak.

I feel like we should have heard more about Craig, too, but I'm sure once he knows his position he'll be a monster.

This year is going to take some luck to pull off.

I think Auburn will be a 8-4 team this year. I obviously don't know a lot about Auburn, but Guz Malzahn will have the offense rolling again. I really like Dyer, I think he's a great RB. I don't think the defense is going to play as well as last year. Funny, since Chizik has taken over, Auburn has had a strong offense and a mediocre defense - total opposite from previous coach.

I am expecting a 10-2 season for LSU. The schedule is too tough to go undefeated. All the places are there for a championship run though. LSU has an experienced OLine, a stacked backfield, inexperienced, but very talented WRs. Defensivley LSU has sacrificed size for speed. We are going to be fast, but not much size. If Anthony Johnson, Michael Brockers, or Josh Downs can step up their game at DT, LSU will have a better defense then last year.

And then there's QB play...

All I can say is hopefully the new offensive coaching staff can get them to play at a mediocre level.

I think you'll see the offensive production go down but the defensive production should honestly go up. We have a ton of talent.

I think Auburn loses to Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas - hands down. Your early games against Clemson and Mississippi State could be very close due to the number of new players that you are breaking in. Both games are early in the season and Clemson is on the road. I think you lose to South Carolina - another away game. Georgia is a coin toss - they have really gotten beat up in the offseason and you guys play them late, which I think is good for you and bad for them. Florida is my sleeper team in the East. They have recruited really well the last three or four years. I think they start rolling by the end of the year. If your OL hasn't gelled by then, their DL could have a field day on your QB, who will be inexperienced. 7-5 best case scenario. 6-6 most likely. If you drop both games to Miss. St. and Clemson, I think you have to start worrying about the wheels coming off. I think your squad has a lot of talent, but it's a rough schedule in the hardest division in the country.

As for LSU, pretty similar story. Our schedule is brutal with Oregon and WV both on the road as out of conference games. I think we split Oregon and West Virginia, and split Alabama and Arkansas, and end up 10-2.
