It’s my favorite dish at Chez Fon Fon in 5 points, downtown Birmingham.

We really just need Shores, Ware, Meyers, Williams and Schmidt to be serviceable. They don’t need to be world beaters but guys that can get their 1-3 outs to bridge gaps.

Great rifle! What ammo do you plan to run through it?
I got a 7PRC for my elk hunt last year and got a nice 5x5 at 507 yards with a 180gr Berger hybrid. I would recommend the 180gr VLD or 195gr EOL. While the hybrid did its job, I like how the VLD Hunters perform on previous elk kills over the hybrid. Good luck and I hope you bag a good one!

How is this legal that one group of people are exempt from taxes but others aren’t? Seems discriminatory to me.

Not even close considering the stage, what was on the line, where the 2 pitchers will be drafted and the best baseball a CWS produced from game 1 to championship.

Why do you need a warrant for someone that’s not a citizen?

can’t speak for anyone else, but all I’m actively rooting for is for the President to keep his head out of his arse. Or, in the alternative, for Congress to pass laws that ensure presidents won’t be able to shove their heads quite so far up their asses in the future.
So what was he supposed to do with his limited 4 years and a Congress that doesn’t do anything for its constituents? That’s the whole problem in a a nutshell is that Congress refuses to bite the hand that feeds them (China) so it forces Trump to act with the limited tools he had available.
China is at war with us economically and building towards militarily. Meanwhile, the American people are worried about how tariffs will hurt them in the next year or 2. The real problem is Congress and the bureaucracies holding back the American economy with taxes, red tape and endless regulations.
re: No Larson or Sheerin on injury report

So I guess you’re saying we should just redshirt him for no reason because he missed half the year? We can’t slowly work a guy with experience back in so he can be ready by the post season? Let’s just keep hoping Benge, and Ware can start throwing strikes?
At this point, Sheerin can’t hurt us on Sunday due to others guys not stepping up like they should have. He might not do great but let’s get him some reps and get him ready for the post season.

re: Interesting to hear Ben Mac talking about how involved Skip Bertman is with the program.
Posted by wryder1 on 4/23/25 at 1:16 pm
Skip is far enough removed from the program by time and age for this to not be a huge deal. Why wouldn’t you want advice from a guy that truly loves the sport and was a master of that craft? At the end of the day, it’s Jay Johnson’s team so it’s up to him to decide what data is important and what should be ignored. If the meetings with Skip were a waste of time, he could easily tell Skip thanks but our talks need to cut back or cut all together.

Bob Sykes BBQ isn’t that good imo. I’d recommend melt, saws BBQ, Slice Pizza, Little Donkey, Martin’s BBQ and Waldo’s.
re: In my gut I feel Jay pulled Ware too early.

It all boils down to losing Sheerin and Guidry before the season started. If Guidry was working on being a starter, then you have to believe he would’ve been the Sunday guy. Worse case scenario, Guidry and Sheerin come out of the pen and we could then move Cowan to Sunday. Johnson is making what we have work because at the end of the day, you have to win 2/3 so you load up on those.
The problem isn’t the pitching, it’s the bats. Jones is killing us with his slump. Milam still isn’t where he needs to be. If we can get those 2 bats back going, things will be fine.

re: Why won’t Katie ever go to prison?

That is a federal crime, not a state. Why can’t we arrest her and those involved, and have their trial in a blood red state like Oklahoma? Didn’t not affect the entire country with their shenanigans?

More will join her as more mentally ill transgenders enter women sports. Women should live under the rules they vote for a suffer the consequences. In time they’ll learn that their feelings aren’t what they should be using to make their voting decisions.

I’m not a doomsayer but some repercussions while unlikely could be extremely dangerous if they feel cornered.. I don’t see us getting near that point but economic strain can kick off conflict very quickly but more dangerous is the slow burn reaction
That’s like backing down from a confrontation when your families safety is at stake because you might get punched, stabbed or shot. What do you think China’s long term goal is? It’s to replace us as the super power of the world which means your children, grandchildren and maybe even yourself will be their slave labor. Screw China, you bring the economic fight to their door while you still can negotiate from a position of strength. You let them know that we can ratchet it all the way up to war if they want but if we go down that path then God help them because we will hit them as hard and fast as we absolutely can. Everyone in this country should be treating this as a true economic war because if they don’t, the next step is a kinetic war on their terms which would NOT be good for our children.
We have to many weak minded people and that weak mentality will only produce weaker children and a weaker country. Grow so balls and accept the short term suffering we MAY have to endure because it’s better for us to do now than our kids to do it later. Either way, this fight is happening.
re: Transfer portal and high school recruits
Posted by wryder1 on 4/10/25 at 5:41 am
Why spend $750,000+ on a high school kid that may or may not be good vs using that same money on a player that has college tape proving he is worth that money. When you have limited resources then every dollar you spend better be spent wisely. How many 4 and 5 stars have you not seen pan out?
I’m not saying not to recruit these guys because you absolutely need them. However, if they demand more than you can pay or what could wisely be spent on 2 guys with high potential, you have to cut the recruitment off and use that money in the portal or the 2 high potential guys.
If you have unlimited money then you can do what Texas, Oregon and Ohio St are doing. We didn’t lose Blaine because of money. We lost him because we haven’t developed a safety since 2019. Start developing safeties and rebuild our DBU reputation and we will get guys like Blaine again. This may involve Kelly hiring someone known for developing safeties if his current guy can’t get it together this year.

Or just take the money slotted to him and buy an elite safety in the portal. The first and only thing we need to worry about is developing what we have and getting back to DBU. Once that reputation returns, they’ll start coming back.

Jay has really been loving that safety squeeze. Maybe a little too much
All he’s doing is making SEC teams plan for it. Any time a runner is on 3rd, they better have their corner infielders on the grass and the pitcher has to account for the base runner. Who cares if he screws it up against Nichols, it’s all about giving our opponents as many things to think about as possible.

This deal should not acceptable unless they remove bans On products they currently ban or over regulate like another poster mentioned.

What do you mean by this? We’re the great consumers of the world. Do you expect us not to have trade deficits? This tariff policy is stupid. Trump will back off very soon and you’ll be singing a different tune.
China steals our technology, manipulates their currency, buys our farmland, unleashed a virus on the world and strategically placing military assets throughout the world, all because we moved all our manufacturing there. They subsidize their steel industry to make it so cheap that nobody can compete. Where do you think they get that money from?
Europe has all this money for free healthcare and other BS because we pay for their defense through NATO. Make them pay for their defense. Make them pay to defense their shipping lanes to Israel.
Canada is nothing without us, as is Mexico. We should be trading with all these countries on our terms and not the other way around.
Bring steel, medicine, ship building and anything else crucial to the defense of our country home. China has us by the nuts on this and in no world is this smart. Bring it home now and then send China back in to the Stone Age or we will be fighting them in the near future. They have made their plans known that they want to take our place as the worlds super power which means every move they make is aggression. It’s time to wake this country up and bring back our prosperity.
