there is reason defenses get compared to 01 Miami.

If you don't think there will be comparisons in the coming years to the 2011 Bama D, you are delusional.

Agreed, but as a defensive unit, anyone with a brain would take 2011 Bama D.

If last year's Bama defense was better, it wasn't by much.

The point is , Bama shouldn't have been there in the first place. For 50 years we have played a SEC schedule for the right to play in bowls AGAINST OTHER CONFERENCES. FOR 30 years of watching football I've been told the regular season is a playoff. LSU and Bama already played. Bama lost. The sec champ had to travel to Georgia and beat a top 10 UGA FOR THE RIGHT TO PLAY A TEAM LSU BEAT AT HOME. You still , to this day, haven't said which is the better resume. It's because you know you didnt deserve to be there. Bama had two hard games last year. Both at home AND COULDN'T WIN JUST TWO HARD GAMES. it's the reason every other conf wanted change, because only in CFB is
12-1 beat 3 ranke teams. No conf or divisional title
BETTER THAN
13-1 beat 8 ranked teams and won the division and conf of the former team.

You mean the Arkansas offense that was pushed around by ole miss ad was losing 17-0 to one of the worst SEC TEAMS EVER. Yeah they weren't good sorry

Tell the #29 ranked Arkansas offense that #4 Oregon offense and the #15 West Virginia offense say "hello" back.

And you think a Big East schedule in 2001 was tougher than an SEC slate in 2011

Yes the big east in 2001 had higher rated offenses than sec 2011. Yes

Jesus, you'll make any argument you can to discredit Alabama.

No they wouldn't. You let a FBS team rush for 290 yards. Get over yourself

2001 Miami D gave up 21 or more points THREE different times. And the 2nd best team in their conference was Syracuse, followed by Boston College. Comparing those two defenses is an insult to the 2011 Bama GOAT defense.

I'm not discrediting Bama. They kicked the hit out of us on Jan.9th and had one of the bet defenses I've ever seen in CFB. It still doesn't change the fact that Bama BACKED into A TITLE GAME you didn't deserve to be in.

That stat is pretty misleading considering the Miami games were generally well out of reach at half time.

I capitalize words to emphasize them. Not yelling. It's what most non sports board people do.

You do realize that half of our D sat out that game to rest for the Iron Bowl, right?

And most of Alabama's were not?

Miami had more close games than Bama did. Fact. They almost lost two games. Bama only played 1 close game all year.

No most of Bama's games weren't out of hand at the half. You were tied with Tenn t the half and only led Vandy 10-0.

After 2007, should LSU fans really be the ones to say such things?

Give it a rest, dude.

We're not talking about LSU's D last year. We're talking about Alabamas, and Arkansas had a legit top 25 offense nationally last year. That was my only point. But thanks for posting something completely irrelevant to the conversation.
