He got outcoached and yet the game was 6-6 at the end of regulation, and Bama had more TOP, and more yards. Yes, Miles coaches his socks off. It's not Saban's fault our kickers had the worst game of their careers on the same day or that our massive TE let a smaller DB wrestle the ball away from him at the goal line. Saban can't make the plays for the players...our players just didn't get it done when they needed to.

How does it feel to know a Jordan Jefferson-led LSU team beat you twice? I mean even though you won the championship, it has to be slightly embarrassing to you. I mean he really sucked

Saying that '11 Bama D is just so far superior to '01 Miami is insane. You can spew off statistics all you want, but you can't put a statistical comparison on SPEED. '01 Miami had the fastest defense ever assembled. And they were mean and nasty to go along with it. Their DB's hit like linebackers, and their LB's moved like DB's.
LSU in '12 might be closer to that level of athleticism than '11 Bama. You had a great defense last yr, but the difference in speed is significant between the two defenses.

Bama had the best defense in a quarter century last yr.
Aside from that. I could see Lsu possibly leading the conference and nation in defense this year. Comparing them to anyone before they play though is just for arguments sake. I could also see Bama leading again this year. Both are loaded with talent. Gonna be interesting to see where they end up at the conclusion of the season.

Doesn't bother me one bit. We have two crystal balls and Jefferson and LSU got none.

What were their stats on the year including distances? They were kicking out of their reliable range. That was the problem with the kicking game.

LSU had to play a true away game and won. The games are separate entities. What can definitively be said is the two teams split a pair of meetings in the season.
LSU just got fricked because the media and some coaches ridiculously set a horrible precedent by ignoring a season long tournament in the SEC and ignoring the rest of the country (OSU).
So now the team with by far the nation's best season and the conference title of the nation's best conference is sitting at number 2. How can people be for a playoff when they don't accept the winner of the playoff format already present in conference set ups?
Also LSU's 2011 defense played better offensive competition and had similar defensive statistics to 2011 Bama.
It's all good though LSU has that shite on lock this season.

Too bad speed isn't what most sane people use to judge the GOAT defense. What Alabama lacked in speed they more than made up for in sheer size, strength and power. And Alabama had plenty of speed last year, just ask Jefferson and Ford how easy it was running the option to the edge on 1/9.

They were a heck of a lot better than 2/6 most games, I can tell you that. They made 5 FG's in the title game, one of which was over 40 yards.

The BCS title game IS a two team playoff. The best two teams. It's not hard to understand, really. The regular season is not a playoff, despite what you would like to believe. If it were, LSU in 2007 never plays for the title with 2 losses late in the season.
