These games are becoming more corporate and fewer real fans. Why do you think the MCBB Natty is on a weekday and not on a weekend?

I remember years ago being in Tucson on business and having the opportunity to attend an Arizona Wildcats football game. It was a Thursday night game and Oregon was coming in ranked, I think, #1 or thereabouts. I remember Oregon’s QB was in the Heisman running but broke his leg or something in this game and Arizona ended up winning. I think this was somewhere around 2008 or 09 or something like that?

Anyway, I noticed going into the game there was zero tailgating. None. The only thing more weird that night was how on every kickoff the Wildcat fans would stand up and rattle their car keys. I think they believed it was loud.

So there’s definitely been tailgating at the Rose Bowl and the last natty in Cali, so it seems to be a SoFi thing. Apparently the owner of the stadium either owns or has investments in many of the bars and restaurants around the area. In other words greedy owner being a greedy frick.

Good news is the last bowl game to be at SoFi had the same rule but tailgating still happened guess it’s more to discourage people then anything

You’ve got it backwards. They’re against tailgating so that there will be more time where the cars are available for carjacking

Just another example as to why this should've been at the rose bowl instead. Best venue in California without question

He said tailgating, not rioting.

I saw a map showing that tailgating would be allowed in the Pink lot. Naturally, it's the lot farthest away from the stadium.

Also, the lots won't open until 4 hours before kickoff.

If the decision makers had a list of 10 criteria they use to decide what stadium gets the title game, I would bet tailgating would not even make the list. The people they are trying to make happy are not playing cornhole at 10:00 AM in the parking lot while making chili.
