How many hours a day would you say you spend reading pre-draft analysis of LSU players?

It’s important that the teams drafting any of these quarterbacks know how to build around them. McElroy said the key to maximizing Burrow’s talents is to surround him with talented players. He laughed as he said it—yes, it seems quite obvious that giving a quarterback talent is important. But Burrow’s strength is his vision and recognition. The ability to run an offense like LSU’s is predicated on having good players while spreading the ball around. “Everything in their offense last year was predicated on one-on-one matchups,” McElroy said. “Everything about it. They were going to put five wide receivers on the route tree and it’s ‘OK, where’s my best matchup? Justin Jefferson working against a safety? Thaddeus Moss against a linebacker? Ja’Marr Chase working against their second-best corner?’ The progressions for him really weren’t that significant. It was, ‘I like that advantage pre-snap, I’ll take advantage of it.’” McElroy doesn’t think that type of offense is fully realistic in the NFL, though he thinks Burrow is capable of NFL-style reads. Burrow had, McElroy said, perhaps the best college season he’s ever seen. It concerns him enough that Burrow was “so average” in 2018 to raise a “reasonable question whether he was hotter than good” in 2019. But McElroy generally believes in Burrow as a prospect.
Another Heisman winner bites the dust.
You see why Drew Lock is having a great NFL so far? He is now the starter for Denver! Drew Lock did not have all those talents that Burrow had at LSU. Also the offenses coaches were bad!

So what was the key to McElroy's success at Bama? You guessed it, he was surrounded by great players.
Good point! So you're agreeing burro is basically GMac talent level.

A lot of QBs have been able to make that claim as of late.

With any luck burro can be a backup there once he flames out in Cincy!

LSU is going to have one other offensive player in the first round.
Bama is going to have three, including the top OT and two of the top three receivers.
And Burrow still accomplished more in one year than Tua did over his entire college career. Sad

Sorry your boy needs elite talent around him to make a completion. We saw in 2018 what he can do without it. 29-0.
Tell us about what your boy Tua has shown he’s capable of doing without elite talent around him

The point Drew had NFL talents but he did not have NFL talents all around him.

Well first of all he didn't have to transfer like a bitch from his 1st school cause he coulnd't get above 3rd on the depth chart. Shall we start there?

I like McElroy. He's better than most.
But I think he's woefully underselling what we did on offense and Burrow's role.
Everybody looks for matchup advantages. Nothing new there. It's recognizing them (so asrute), executing (so accurate), and improvising when protection breaks down (so creative). Nobody in the history of CFB did it better.

Just make sure you finish with him not winning the heisman while noted 3rd stringer did.

And yet this "bitch" still had a better season than any Alabama quarterback ever?
Wow.

I was under the impression that he was playing against future NFL defenders in 2019. In fact, draft projections bear this out.
As for 2018, he stepped foot on campus just a couple months before he started a season with brand new coaches, teammates, schemes, and playbook. Despite those circumstances, he more-than-held-his-own.

these melts make the off-season so much more bearable.

Not really. You had the best WR group you've ever had and we had the worst DB group since Saban has been here. And you still only won a 5 point game. Think he's dead on.
