But,seriously. This has been in the forecast for a week. I game like Florida and A&M with anticipated modest support could have been played at UAB or Samford-- about 15 minutes from the Met while the Vandy and UT game was played in Hoover.

This should be one of the perks of the tourney being in the league's HQ city. Of course no one can do anything about the rain itself, but to just sit there and hope for the best is questionable.

Well the OP is still a dumb arse for blaming it on the Hoover Met and not the SEC.

it's behind half a day

bud, LSU was supposed to play their first game on Wednesday night. It's already behind more than that and looking like Friday morning at this point which would be a day and a half behind. Best case scenario is they have a 10:00 PM start tonight, full day behind. That's significant in a 12 team double elimination tournament that has to be completed by Sunday afternoon

This isn't 12 year old softball teams playing 7 inning games that take less than 2 hours where the results don't matter.

In Hoovers defense, it’s 1:15 in Hoover, there has been about 1 hour and 15 minutes or sporadic rain, and not a single pitch has been thrown.

k, and so if it's raining in Hoover, it's raining at Samford

and have you ever heard of doubleheaders? It's a baseball thing

Was this a serious post? If you play at both venues when it stops raining, you can get more games completed in a shorter amount of time. So, when Florida begins their game, Tennessee could play their game at the same time, meaning there wouldn't be concerns of LSU being able to play theirs tonight. Then, tomorrow, you can start round three and have multiple round 3 games being played at the same time, thus eliminating issues with trying to squeeze in 10 3-4 hour games with 45 minute breaks in between into a 2.5 day window. Makes sense now?

Those 12 year old softball tournaments you previously alluded to, trying to make a point, aren't playing all the games on the same field either.

Yes, let's have our teams, some of whom will be starting tournament play on Thursday, play double headers back to back days. That's definitely looking out for your product.

I was at the Hoover City Council meeting last week where the passed a resolution mandating rain this week. The Mayor said he was tired of all the money it brought to his city.

Has the SEC ever, in the history of the SEC baseball tourney, played the tournament at two venues?

Baseball players are incapable of playing double headers? If they do, "we're not protecting our product?"

To save time and hassle, eliminate Arkansas, move 2-0 Bama to the championship game and let the other teams play their way in with single elimination games

We’ve never dealt with this much rain since the tournament moved to 12 teams. We had an entire day washed out around 2006, but the tournament only had 8 teams in it so they were able to work around that more easily.

Tell me you don’t understand pitching staffs without telling me you don’t understand pitching staffs. Playing double headers on back to back days 4 days before the NCAAT is idiotic

The Sun Belt Tournament, also being held in Alabama, announced after the first round that they were going to a single elimination tournament...
