Alabama will win the NC this year and Najee will be in the running for Heismen.

You must've missed the 'at tech' part. Considering we haven't lost in Atlanta without ref assistance and tech vacating the game since the late 80s, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet.
Georgia Tech got those wins back.

Considering your preseason predictions from last year you may want to change your tune.
I have multiple bookmarks of you saying Auburn would go 4-8, finish last in the West, and lose 45-17 to Clemson

This is only my fifth season here, but this same thread appears every offseason, including the Vols guys...do they do this every single season off-season regardless? Got to admire the optimism I guess.

Ain't that the damn truth.

Florida will be lucky to win 8 games this year.
Florida returns nine starters on offense. Michigan returns ONE starter on defense. If Florida can't beat Michigan, then you are probably correct even though they play but 3 games on the road. AT UK, at MO and at SC.

If you take away 1980, Georgia and South Carolina are basically the same.

No, georgia is better than south carolina by a wide margin and not just because of their natty.

How can bringing 10 starters back on a top 20 defense not be a good thing?

Kirby isn't a fraud like McElwain, in the sense that he won't backdoor his way into winning the shitty East a few times. They're both mediocre coaches though.

UGA is 761-390-50 All Time
SC is 553-529-41 All Time
UGA is 45-18-2 All Time vs. SC HTH
Take away 1980
UGA is 749-390-50 All Time
SC is 545-525-41 All Time
UGA is 44-18-2 All Time vs. SC HTH

I guess you can't talk about Georgia being good unless you're an UGA fan.
No, you're welcome to do so. It just doesn't mean that UGA fans are spreading rampant optimism of the typical Orange and White nature. I don't disagree that there are things to be optimistic about UGA this year, but it's all a giant question mark at this point. We *expect* that several things will improve while not taking a step back in other areas... whether those things are true, and how much will greatly dictate how the season goes. If I had to sum it up in a few bullets:
Offensive line play has to be better... period. As WG has stated either in this thread or elsewhere, there's reason to believe that this will be the case by the *end* of the season with the talent being brought in... how quickly it is true will be a big deal.
Eason has to take the next step as a quarter back (at least in part dependent on the above). Fundamentals have to be better and grasp of the offense and reading/decision making has to speed up. Initial reports good here at least, but won't know until we see it with "live fire".
Wide Receivers - Who can/will be the guy(s)? Consistency has not been good here.
Defensively - Can they live up to the hype... 10 guys returning, a couple of guys who still haven't hit their ceiling IMO (Carter and Bellamy)

The odds are in Georgia's favor. I mean eventually they have to have that year, and with 10 starters back on defense this may be it.
Yeah... that's not how statistics works.
