They took the politics out and put the 4 best teams in the playoffs. If you are an LSU fan or any fan of the college football you should be happy. The committee shows that they won't be swayed by geographical interest and money. The four best teams are playing.

Agreed. I don't understand the way some people are acting. The regular season is over. LSU can't get in. So why not appreciate that 2 SEC teams are in? The chances of an SEC team winning the nc just went way up. Despite what people want to believe, that's very good for all of us.

Exactly in the long run this helps LSU and the whole conference by showing how tough the conference is to plan in. Especially if Georgia and bama were to win their games and have an all SEC title game. You don't think that will carry weight? You don't think Ohio State didn't get penalized for putting up a goose egg in last year's playoffs. The committee remembers. This can go a long way to help the entire SEC.

I agree.

I have been in the camp that they would never put 2 teams from the same conference into the playoffs unless it was just unavoidable. I am shocked.

I do think Bama has a better team than Ohio State this year. But I thought Ohio State would get the #4 spot.

I am not sure Bama has a good chance against Clemson so I am not expecting a national championship by any means. But I am glad to see the committee ignore the political/geography/path of least resistance. They are human and may not always pick the 4 best teams...but it appears they are making an honest attempt.

FWIW, they did the same last year and Ohio State was the beneficiary. It later appeared they made a mistake in judgement and that could very well be the case again this year.

Agreed they got it right so let’s scrap the conference championships. Clemson UGa and OU had to expose themselves to an extra game against ranked opponents while Bama rested on a couch. No reward to playing in conference championship game.
