I take it even a step further. I don't care at all what happened before 2000. None of these kids were alive then. They don't know about any of that. Even with LSU baseball and having the in state guys grow up hearing about LSU, I still don't care what LSU did in the 90s. IMO, none of that has any bearing on where kids decide to go to school now.

I can't speak for LSU, but I know for a fact that the current roster of Alabama players are more than aware of the long and storied history of Alabama Football. They may not know the granular-level details, but they sure as shite know what Bear Bryant did there and are fully aware of the '93 Sugar Bowl performance against Miami.

I should have worded it differently. Being aware of it and having it factor into the choice of where you are going to school are two different things to me. I just can't imagine a kid from California choosing to play baseball at LSU because we won championships before they were born.

People who think players care at all about the programs history are kidding themselves. Players care about the creature comforts, NIL, and who their coach is. Often times programs with good history also have those 3 things but current LSU players arent at LSU because of the chinese bandits and Tennessee edge rushers arent there because of reggie white. Those days are over

This is actually downright incredible to me. Not only has it been almost 30 years since Tennessee last won the SEC, it has been almost 20 years since they last made an appearance in the SEC Championship Game.
