I agree. I understood why Auburn fired Malzahn, but I think the powers at be for Auburn overvalued their own program at the time they fired him. They believed their program was still revered as the team that was a few seconds away from winning it all twice in four seasons, when in reality they were the third best program in their own division at that point in time. There were some great candidates on the market that year, but Auburn struck out on all of them and had to settle for a guy who was, plain and simple, a bad fit.
Harsin will probably be fired after this season, but the same issues that plagued Auburn in their last coaching search will still hold them back today. I mean, what coach wants to come to a team that might finish last in its own division this year and has to play on an annual basis against the three teams that have combined for the previous four national championships?

Firing Gus was the right move.
Hiring Harsin was the wrong move.
Both can be true.
^ this
Gus is the one that drove the program into the ground with his piss-poor recruiting and complete lack of player development. Harsin was brought in to rebuild. Instead he’s proven to be even worse than Gus. He’s everything Gus was only more so.
What I’d give to be Harsin and getting paid this $$. Think I’d care? Take it to the house and live. That’s the mindset now of coaches now. Fast payday. They have no skin in the game anymore. They go to the house with a account stuffed with millions. Frick the fans now.

I love hating
auburn but let's be honest, every team on the rant has hired one or more really bad coaches (eg Mike Dubose at my place).

Remember whe Auburn had that 6 game win streak over a probation riddled Bama?
That’s crazy, completely forgot about that.

Now tell me how many times Virginia has sold out that small stadium they have.
I went to UVA for grad school. LSU for undergrad. Its not that complicated. Actually less complicated than Auburn's mascot. Tigers? War Eagles? Plainsmen? Who knows and who cares
