They probably found a connection between Freeze and someone's wife who works for Ole Miss

Very likely, the "Additional Troubling Information" is simply, Freeze admitting that he committed multiple NCAA violations on his school phone stupidly.

Ole Miss won't be dead, but the NCAA is absolutely going to leave them in a vegetated state and shove a feeding tube down their throat

1000% there is more. I've seen coaches (and really just other people in my business career) whose employers had cause to fire them. Many of them refused to resign and mad the employer fire them so they could try to collect further compensation in court. To just unconditionally resign with ZERO further comp and no stipulations suggests something very, very bad.

I like to think of it like the cocooned victims of Alien. Just wrapped up and helpless, waiting to be devoured piece by agonizing piece. Ts & Ps

If OM gets the death penalty, what is more likely... they get replaced in the SEC or both they and Mizzou get tossed?

Keep Mizzou out of this. But this story is as perfect as SEC as you can get. Get the popcorn ready.

If Miami was able to duck and cover, it would be hard to defend giving ANYONE the death penalty based on precedent.

Agree but Miami is a national program and is just now recovering from their scandal. Ole Miss has nowhere near the clout they do and will be punished just as hard or harder.
