Everyone cheats.
Cmon....really?
Our offense can't score without Hansbrough...we don't need to attract attention to ourselves right now.

I can't even direct him to where I want him to go. I'm just getting the "it isn't fair" angle from him.

Kim Anderson is probably cheating his arse off on the recruiting trail as we speak just to keep his job.

Nope it happens everywhere.

Well your argument for it being morally wrong is that teams get penalized for doing it. That is simple minded. Do you not question rules?
It's much deeper than that. And I'll give you a hint as to why it's illegal. It has nothing to do with moral$.

If you think your team isn't cheating, you're delusional. Maybe it's not blatant, but you are.

Vandy has the worst scandal in recent SEC history. They covered up rape for their football players

Yes there was rape but they did not cover it up. They moved pretty fast and those kids were out.

Kim Anderson couldn't even cheat effectively.
(And I'm pretty sure he kept our number one recruiter on campus for the majority of last year because he didn't like the way he was playing in the gray.).
P.S. I think KA is the shittiest basketball coach in all P5 conferences.

It's what I was told this weekend. Timing may not be the greatest, but if I sat around and waited to bring this up at some moment when Mizzou is looking awesome at everything I figure I'd come across as even more of a jackass.
I knew how the responses to this thread would probably look, but it doesn't change what I was told by someone who lives with a coaching staff's family member. For a discussion forum like this, it makes for a hell of a discussion.

Not really. Did you read the thread?

I would be fine with separating the P5 schools and playing a shorter schedule (10 games) and eliminating the BS games where our schools pound some directional into submission

Your source is actually the exact opposite of credible
Biased as frick.

You haven't solved half the problems here, but it's a start.
Do you have a ceiling wage for the players? Do you have a floor?

Our morals are different. I don't think NCAA players should be paid. I also don't think admission standards should be dropped to accommodate kids that can jump high and run fast but aren't suited for a college curriculum.
I know it's about money and that's why things the way they are. There's a simple solution. Remove the amateur athlete tag, pay them a fair wage and stop pretending. Also, don't make them attend class, let the NFLPA get involved and negotiate for the benefit of these minor league players.
Drop the ruse. It's not fooling anyone any longer.
Paying them and stop pretending they are amateurs seems more likely to happen down the road.
That will avoid having to pay the girls rowing team. They can still retain their amateur status and therefore be ineligible for payment.

It's not ever going to make for a "hell of a discussion" when you come with "info" from the family member of a coach of the team you root for that suggests that 12 other SEC members but not them are cheating. No one is going to take that seriously.
It also probably doesn't help your discussion when you had a basketball coach who was recently out on probation due to his cheating at another program either (before he was let go). Or your source lumping themselves in with a school that recently was involved in a rape case that suggested a coverup by the football program.

The administration moved quickly. I'm not altogether convinced Franklin didn't participate in some destruction of evidence or obstruction.

Slightly off topic, but how long does he have on his contract?

My morals and your morals have nothing to do with why the NCAA does not allow to pay players.
We are on the same page. But I also really like LSU sports, so I wouldn't mind the kids at least just being able to make their living off of their own name. There is no reason why Jonny Manziel should not have been able to sign a few footballs for some cash. It's the purest form of capitalism.
