WHY dont the gumps just admit it. IF bama gets in to the BCSCG it was given to them. They did not earn it, for if they have they would have beaten LSU at their house when they had the chance.

Oh and if Okie State beats OU and they dont get a shot none of you think they have a valid complaint.....child please

Hey you made a funny.

How about, if Bama fans don't mind getting beaten twice in one year by the corndogs, then why should the corndogs mind beating bama twice in the same year?

Now work your magic.

That being said, please stop your rantard crusade and rid your fanbase of retarded Gumps first; then, come back and clean up our yard. Start at TideFans.

If you've spent much time on the Open Board of Alabama's scout site and on Tidefans you would know this to be a futile exercise and a physical impossibility.

If Alabama makes it to the BCS title game (still not totally comfortable they will even with a win in the Iron Bowl) and LSU beat Alabama again I'll be LSU and Lesticles for a long time to come. What other choice would respectable Alabama fans have?

Deny it and make up excuses

I'm just kidding, but as I said earlier in this thread. Nothing Bama fans have told me in person or I've read on a message board convinces me that they would ever tip their cap to LSU. I think there will be a few honorable fans as there always are, and plenty that will live in denial.

I say all that, to say this. LSU fans don't need Bama to finally be convinced. They just want another title. That would put us with three in the BCS era, behind no one. So while beating Bama again would be cool because of the history and the coach and all of the things that made it cool the first time, convincing Bama fans of anything won't enter the calculus in this debate for most LSU fans I suspect.

ETA: gov't tide you are doing and admirable job, but people on your side aren't doing you any favors in terms of bringing intelligent points to the table

I am only basing my opinion on the rematch being more likely than not on the public opinions of those who earn their living analyzing and predicting the BCS (Edwards, Palm, etc)....In fact, Edwards says 90% and Palm said 80%.
So, you base your opinion on people whose jobs are based on entertainment value and bringing viewers in to warrant investment by outsiders via advertising dollars spent. Yep, no reason for these guys to exaggerate and spin!

That must mean you think Bama getting beaten by LSU is equivalent to OSU getting beaten by Iowa State.

Child please. I would hope you would give LSU more credit than that.

Ok, so should yall win in NOLA, do we get a rematch to break the tie? More specifically, it should be a 3rd game in Tiger Stadium.

You know, since you had us at home and couldn't get it done there.

Do you A)Look at each contender's body of work, who they beat, who they lost to, and look at how they stack up to the other contenders for #2 or do you B) Eliminate contenders not based on how they stack up with other contenders for #2 but what would be a "fair" match up for #1?

this isn't correct...the two considerations are A)which of the contending teams has accomplished the most and deserves to be ranked 2nd (similar to your A) and B) which of the closet contenders for the #2 spot is the best team, in a theoretical playoff who would win.

A is the correct way to look at it, in my opinion. Before last weekend Alabama's main argument was B, but with the way the rest of the country is bailing it looks like they will win the A argument as well. Although if Ok State beats Ok it will be close.

Rematch arguments would basically be based on the premise that "we're trying to determine the best team and crown them champion. If you lose to #1 at home, you're not the best team, therefore you're out. We really don't care who the theoretical 2nd best team is, the goal is to find the best team." The validity of this argument is it keeps the most importance on the regular season, particularly November.

Actually, no. I think if the games get split so should the championship but as I said before I don't have the control to make that happen.

But if they would allow a 3rd game I'd make it a best out of three. I damn sure wouldn't be trying to give some bogus reasons as to why OSU should be playing.

Well obviously they will not allow a third game. That is why we feel you do not deserve a second chance. You have to see the logic in that.

Again, I will enjoy watching Game of the Century Part 2, and I think it's the most likely scenario. However, that doesn't mean I think Bama would be a national championship should you somehow win the do over.

Whoa whoa whoa, you're saying that OSU won't be the champs after beating OU?

They can call themselves what they want. The fact is they have one less game to go through because they have no championship game.

I've been saying for years that the Pac 10 and Big 10 had an unfair advantage over the SEC teams because they had one less game to play. They just finish their season and sit back and wait for the SEC to play that one more game. Now they will have a championship game but the Big 12 + or - won't.

Would it not have helped LSU this year if they didn't have to go to Atlanta and play Georgia?

Have to even the odds somehow :secsecsec:

But as we've shown, it hasn't helped the other conferences one bit.

Regardless of all that nonsense you typed out, you're saying the Big 12 doesn't have a champion just because they don't have a championship game?

You don't see it because you want the weakest opponent so you can always remember 2011 as the year since 1958 you didn't lose a game and won the title.
