CBS just announced that Texas and Oklahoma will refuse grant of right after 2025. He said play in the SEC will commence in four years. CBS?? Four years, that's what they said.

They aren't going to committ to the buyouts right now. They want to wait and see if the conference folds first. I still think the most likely first season for Texas and OU in the SEC is Fall 2023.

I'm just the messenger. The schools will honor the current term of the Grant of Rights. But they will continue to monitor the rapidly changing landscape. Saw this CBS clip on YouTube.

Yes they will “honor” the GOR knowing full well that these moves will result in the big 12 folding by 2022

Maybe. But if the rest of the conference holds on, Texas and Oklahoma will also. Maybe they play before. Just look at their statement and not the shite posted on this board.

An airplane with 10 people and 6 parachutes is 4 minutes from plummeting to the ground. Scratch that, the pilot and co-pilot just grabbed the two newest coolest strongest parachutes and put them on and are standing at the door. You gonna agree to discuss it for three minutes with the remaining 8 people before deciding who doesn't get a parachute? Or who gets stuck with the 2 shitty parachutes that is gonna land you 1500 miles away from your location?

Well one thing is for sure Texas and OU don't want to pay the millions to step out of the Big 12 and into the SEC in 2022. They need the other Big 12 teams to disintegrate. It may happen but the other teams can toy with them for a year or two (or three or four) if they want to. It gives the other teams time to find the best deals.

LOL they cannot unring the death knell that OU and TX have sounded. The Big 12 wont exist in 2025. Buyouts are going to happen and ESPN is going to scrap LHN early. 2025 is way too far in the future. None of those members are going to willingly go down with the ship over that time period.
