Ole Miss/Cutcliffe Syndrome
Ole Miss was right in firing Cutcliffe, he took the foundation that Tubberville + Eli Manning had built and squandered it.

So who do you think you will hire?
I have no clue, but they need to know the conference.

What do you guys pay Pinkle? Does he have a buyout? What's your budget?

Dooley could do well at a program with a higher ceiling.

6.9 if its this year, but it most likely will be after next season. The Boosters are pissed, so I think we are covered in Buyout Money.

You gotta love Boosters

Great idea. Get rid of the one coach who won a few games at your school. I'm sure you can do better.
Dan Devine.
And we could do better if we get someone who can bring in our in state prospects. We're losing 3-4 extremely highly touted players again this year. We lose elite players every year because certain kids know our staff is a joke.

about what? This season has been worse than predicted but at full strength you guys seemed 6-6 7-5 type team. No offense by that, it's just the SEC and the Big 12 are two way different conferences. Aggies have been stockpiling elite talent for years but masked it with incompetent coaching.

I'd like to hire BMFP, just to watch the entire state of Arkansas go up in flames.
Would be epic.
Would be epic.

This is probably the worst year for Mizzou throw its name into the coaching search.
Just in the SEC you have Arkansas, Tenn, and Auburn all likely looking and all are more attractive jobs. Could be slim pickens on the coaching front.

oh frick. I'm pretty sure the rest of the SEC will stay away from him but I don't know if you guys would. The meltdown from this would be epic.

Yeah, I made this point on our board.
He won't get fired this year. Staff changed might be pushed down his throat, and he'll be on a hot hot hot seat next year. But it would be insane to get into the 'coach search' market right now.

I agree. It will probably happen next year. Way less competition.

Saban made another coach quit.
Again.
Again.

While I completely see what you're saying, I am a firm believer that GP will not allow changes to his staff. His blind loyalty will be his ultimate downfall. That and his sub .500 conference record.

Ok SoCal so the question is, change this year and be 4th in line in the SEC not including any other job openings or wait till next year and hope you have a more attractive package to offer a decent coach wanting to jump in the SEC.
I mean if you wait till next year you could get Mark Richt, he's always on the hot seat right?

I agree, I don't think he will willingly make staff changes. If they happen, I think they will be forced on him.

Should have gotten Richt 12 years ago when he interviewed for our job. He'd honestly fit in perfectly here, he is the man that is the true family man with real loyalty. With Pinkel it's just talk.

Waiting a year could mean absolute collapse.
Pull the trigger now, back up the Brinks truck to the first guy on their list.
Charlie Strong.
