I think Texas turns it up a notch once they reach the CWS. They just have that tradition. Interesting that they aren't the highest ranked team in the field of 8. That honor belongs to their hated little brother, ATM at #5 nationally. Still, Texas will be hard to beat.

There is a strong trend of teams winning it the year after being eliminated. I think Texas is the team to beat.

A&M just doesn't have the pitching, though they've been getting better. It's a miracle we've gotten this far without a true ace on the staff. Just a bunch of transfers and quickly improving relievers

People forget that if it weren't for a total meltdown in the 9th inning of their elimination game against Vanderbilt last year, it likely would have been Stanford, not the Commodores, that advanced past NC State due to DQ to play in the finals against Miss State last year.
