If the NCAA goes away nothing is regulated anymore….everything you know about how college sports, all college sports and how they work will be erased in one day….
Not a fan of the NCAA at all.

If that should happen - please God! Let it happen - I would think the SEC would step in and regulate the conference as well as they could given the stupid court rulings.

I see you're in the 'acceptance' phase now.

Good for you.

Even in the Wild West former slaves were paid.

And the Wild Wild West refers to murder. And that's still legal in the NCAA. Ask Brian Kelly or Nate Oats.

If the NCAA does go away at some point, who is going to run all of the championships/tournaments that they directly run?

Yup. Give away Dodge Chargers at GUMP? No investigation, nothing. Run a veritable prostitution ring at UGA? No investigation, nothing.

Forget to dot an 'i' at Tennessee on some random piece of paper?

MUH DEATH PENALTY.

Fk that. I don't give a rats azz about the whinings of the GUMPtards, etc.

This change is a long time coming. It's time for those goobers to compete on a level playing field.

Any attempt to regulate 16 teams out of 130+ will relegate those 16 teams to third or worse class citizens in the CFB world. Regulation of any kind only works when it applies to everyone. The SECs idea of regulation will differ greatly from the Big10s. Its either unfettered competition for recruiting talent or some agreed upon standard for recruiting talent. Having 2 systems in place won't work, having 8 won't work, it is either 1 or none.

The NCAA tournament is the property of the NCAA. It is a very lucrative property...they will never relinquish it. I think the same is true of the CWS...I think it belongs to the NCAA but I could be wrong. They own, I think, the Division 2 and 3 CFB playoffs, but again I could be wrong. I doubt they ever relinquish control of those. They very well may be on the brink of cutting about 30% of DIV 1 football programs lose while the remaining 70% agree to some form of NCAA regulation as well as a playoff system which actually crowns a champion of that division that is recognized by the NCAA. The other 30% are headed for some form of semi pro league loosely associated with a University and until they find a way to regulate that league legally it will be a continuation of the wild wild west....and fans will be lamenting the lack of regulation while simultaneously complaining of any regulation.

Wrong.

Regulation of any kind only works when it applies to everyone in any particular peer group.

Top recruits aren't going to care that UTSA isn't 'regulated' and enroll there, as UTSA can't pay out the money that said top recruit is looking for.

He's STILL going to the SEC/B10/ACC whatever, where he can get paid.

Sure, one or two will fall through the cracks, as some billionaire who attended Slippery Rock doles out the cash to get a single top QB. But those instances will be few and far between.

I understand that this makes sense in a fevered mind looking for a conspiracy at every turn BUT there is no logic in the idea that Alabama, or UGA, for example, who, in the tormented mind of some, managed to bend the rules in their favor, will not flourish in an environment with no rules. If you are wiley enough to bend the rules successfully where others were not there is simply no reason to expect that the removal of the rules will level the playing field.

If you had been allowed to drive your car at 200 mph every day in your commute when others were limited to 70 how on earth could eliminating the speed limit place all drivers on a level plain? The one that was limited to 70 is going to have a helluva learning curve to survive at 200. The one who has been driving at 200 already has the equipment in place to drive 200 while everyone else is stuck with the 70 equipment (mindset). Anyone who thinks that eliminating rules will level the playing field has a loose grip on the reality of the real world where people compete. Simply accepting being subject to rules that were eventually eliminated places that entity at a severe disadvantage to an entity that never worried about the rules to begin with...culture is important, its hard to change.

Yeah, you were cheating.

That's what this is all about. You can't anymore, and you hate that.

You don't have the money to compete with Tennessee, not with everything in the open.

Not even after two natties.

I hope you enjoyed those natties, you'll never win another, being such a piss poor fanbase.

All a program needs to do is add plausible deniability. Don't be mad that your program was too dumb to do it right.

Ah, so you're not against pay for play. You're against bad secretarial skills. Well, none of that matters anymore. the NCAA is getting bent over by Tennessee.

p.s. Enjoy the cellar, you'll be there for a looooong time.

It's not about what I'm for or against, it's the reality of the sport.

No, honestly I think it currently sucks, but every other school seems to know how it works.
